I'm running this game on a Win 7 x64 machine,
and it's been working fine for months.
Now however, I'm unable to display any servers.
The game is constantly hanging at "Refreshing...".

    Further Info:
I've recently installed a 3rd party firewall app,
but did have MNC working since. Seeing as it can't connect now,
I've tried disabling it (and the Windows firewall), and even uninstalling the 3rd party one.

Got any tips on how to at least narrow down the problem?

    Thanks in Advance

i've asked a couple of friends who play and all of our server browsers aren't working atm so it's not your problem i think

a workaround is to use racquemis' browser-based server list (i don't have the link sry) or just join via the "history" tab in server browser

    EDIT: found it

I'm getting a "1 file failed to validate and will be required " when I go and validate the game in steam. It will fail constantly. Im currently at 16 validations and counting for it. Can you guys check and see if they/ you have the same problem?

I had already tried the web-based server browser.
It was indeed allowing me to connect, but for whatever reason, it seemed like the info displayed in the web-based server browser was inaccurate. For instance, I'd click the play button beside one of the servers that had 9/12 slots in use, and when the game loaded up, and joined that server, I was the only one there.

I also just tried verifying the integrity of my game's cache too, and it said one file was not validating, and it automatically re-downloaded that one. When I checked Steam under Library/Downloads however, it shows that it updated 0 bytes/0 bytes

we all got the same error and there is 1 file that's always "failed" and i don't know the fix. but according to the other thread regarding today's update, it's a server stability fix, which might fix the issue; however, i'm still downloading it and haven't got to verify this yet

    Thanks Ray;
According to another post I was reading, that file that neither of us are able to get to validate is most likely just a .ini file whose values have changed. If that's the case, then it'd have nothing to do with the problem at hand, and is probably nothing to worry about at all. I hope this update you speak of fixes the problem... I haven't seen any official notes about the update yet.
(Won't be able to test for a few more hours still)

    Working for me now too!
    Woohoo!!!

Another problem exists now though... most servers are either empty or not yet upgraded.

    This is odd and widespread...

I got nothing here. I was sure there was a fix for this but I can't seem to remember.

I'm having the same issue with 64 bit Win7, and I recall having it in the past when I was still running XP so I'm not sure that it's the OS.

I am able to connect to servers through this web based server list, but that's not an adequate solution.

Here's what I've done with it today: through steam I went through the "verify the integrity of the game cache" process, which has produced two different messages. Earlier today it told me that 2 files failed to validate and would be downloaded. I ran it again, and it then told me that 1 file failed to validate. I kept running it, and got the same message several times.

Then, I deleted local content and re-installed the game. Upon verifying the cache, it tells me (again) that 1 file failed to validate. I've restarted steam, restarted the computer, checked the fire wall (it's the windows firewall and MNC is properly excepted). I still get the same message. In other words, I have the same problem everyone else has had in the past.

My brother also owns the game and is playing in the same house through the same router, also running Win7, and his game works fine. It's frustrating. I'd really like to see an actual solution or even a good explanation of what is going on here.

    "Question
I am receiving one of the error messages listed below:
    WARNING : Connection Problem
    Client dropped by server"

This is not the issue I'm having.

    Still can't see servers.

Damn. Thought that was a better article. One guy said it worked.

All I know is that given time it just goes away but that is not enough. Uber usually is not this busy. If only human cloning were possible...

Yeah, well at least you tried. Thanks for posting. Still having issues, but I'm able to play by connecting through this site here that someone else posted: http://vps10217.xlshosting.net/?p=browser

And really, there should be a connect to IP feature in the server browser.
