Class popularity

Just a fun little research thing I did. I played in 100 games, and wrote down how many of each class there were.

In a study of 100 games, with a total of 1,019 class selections:

Assassin was picked 212/1019 times.
Support was picked 205/1019 times.
Assault was picked 192/1019 times.
Gunner was picked 171/1019 times.
Sniper was picked 157/1019 times.
Tank was picked 82/1019 times.

Assassin - 20.80%
Support - 20.12%
Assault - 18.84%
Gunner - 16.78%
Sniper - 15.41%
Tank - 8.05%

I find it interesting that the Assassin and Support, being voted most underpowered in the poll, are the most played, while the Assault and the Sniper, being voted most overpowered, are less played.

But. . .Assassin is overpowered though, dohohohohohohoho.

They pick the assassin because they wanna see that scanty little *** move (...or maybe because they wanna be a derpninja)

Does this take into account class changes, late joiners/quitters?

Nothing more annoying then getting front grappled by assassin and then back grappled by another one waiting right behind you -.-

Doesn't surprise me that assassin came up top as people who have just started playin always seem to pick her for some reason.

Odd how the assassin is most chosen yet the obvious counter, the tank, is least.

because deep down you know that every class can counter the assassin efficiently

noob assassins maybe but not pro ones

But a pro anything else will counter a pro assassin.

Well, every class has a weakness towards another class, really.

Fun fact.

I recorded the classes near the middle/end of the game. It's hard to keep track of those who quit, but late joiners were counted and class changers would have had the class they changed to recorded.

Nice info. I would have though assaults would be higher on the list, but maybe I just notice them more because they annoy the crap out of me.
