Before I start I'd just like to say that i'm in love with this game and can't stop playing it. Pure genius.

The upgrade system works pretty well, and a small amount of thought can be put into the order skills are upgraded, but seeing as they can be maxed out so quickly, it often doesn't have to be thought about, as you know within a reasonable amount of time all your skills will be at their peak anyway. I think the system could benefit from 1/2 levels added to each skill to add technical depth. It increases the time before all your skills are at their max and requires more thought. Will you upgrade all your skills equally and gradually, or will you max out the charge skill first, at the cost of your other now weak skills?

Correct me if i'm wrong but i believe some of the devs that worked on MNC also worked on demigod, and i think the game could benefit from many of the features contained in demigod.

I think a level system could work very well alongside the upgrade system. When a bot or pro that you caused damage to dies, you gain some experience towards your next level, and when you're next level is gained you'll gain a small amount of money, increased max health, slightly increased damage and possibly something else depending on class (speed for assassin, armor for tank etc.). You can then press a button to go to a level up menu to pick a bonus for that level, anything ranging from increased damage against jackbots, increased damage against slims and blackjacks, increased healing speed, improved cloak detection, rate of fire, skill recovery, increased damage vs turrets, and the list could go on.

Not only would levels add more depth and a new dimension to the game, it gives pros a reason to push a lane and kill bots. If they don't they may fall behind on levels and be at a severe disadvantage. It would also help to take anyway the "CoD" mentality many players have at the moment. This isn't CoD :)

And i know the changes are pretty radical, and some people do like to play it like a simple shooter, so these changes could possibly be implemented into different modes. For example you've got the normal blitz and crossfire we've got now, and then you've got advanced blitz and advanced crossfire with the said changes implemented :)

    Thanks for reading :D

I play/played demigod, and thought it was a brilliant game. MNC is just about the closest thing to it on xbox and i think these changes could really work, especially the level system :D

Yes, a good chunk of the devs came from the Demigod team.

I think the upgrade system is meant to be small and simple. If you do manage to get all of your skills maxed out there are plenty of other things to spend you cash on (bots, juice, ejectors, annihilator, and turrets) which is what you should be doing. Changing the skill system to using experience not only changes the game completely but heavily goes against the theme of "It's all about cash". Also, the matches are meant to be short (no mare than 17 minutes) so in my opinion adding an additional level of depth seems unnecessary. I also know a lot of people who barely level skills and spend most of it on the other things to support the team more. Overall I think the game is meant to be something that is easy to pick up and get into, but hard to master. And that "hard to master" element comes from physical skill, and not just knowing what the best order to build your skills in. Adding a more in depth skill selection only makes that "pick of and play" harder to do.

It would Be Kinda Cool If in the depth there were sub categories eg the assasin can get the sowrd (longer+more speed) or a different weapon(slower+strong) like that for every class I also think that weapons or other stuff should change like in the ammo mule add if you add a specific endorsement there should be a specific different (eg bigger clip like in the commercial)

Seriously, stop using big, red letters. It's like you're yelling obnoxiously.

    ^ Yes

In a post somewhere else Neutrino was talking about how the game originally had a very in depth skill tree for each class. In the end, they determined that it was best to make it what it currently is.

Of course you're free to make yourself look like a fool and be annoying if you wish, I'm just trying to let you know that it's bothersome to everyone who reads it.

I think the game is good the way it is. The only real problem i see with your idea is regarding players who join mid-match. WHat would happen to them? Would they be owned the whole match because they weren't there from the begginning getting xp? Thats the only issue i saw. Overall i think its good to keep things simple.

I always compare things to LP2 and this game is a good one to compare with. LP2 was very in-depth, maybe not with a leveling system, but with the general complexity of the game. Weapons did more than shoot and do damage, they had other effects to them, that really turned ALOT of people off. Overall had the game stuck to a much simpler formula for damage and combat in general, like MNC, it would have done much better. I hate to be the one to say it but, modern gamers are much less tolerant of "change" in games, if something veers off the industry standard in a genre it often is met with skepticism, and then disinterest. Many of my friends are like this too, and it drives me crazy because they want one thing in their games, simplicity, and i think this causes developers to take less chances (some of which could have amazing potential) and instead stick to a formulaic approach to game design.

@sheggy: Stop it. You look like an idiot when you use that formatting.

On topic: You have to remember that this game is a shooter first and a DotA-style game second. While there are bots and skill upgrading, the primary reason you get kills is that you are better than your target, not because you're 10 levels higher than him.

The game could use more depth, sure, but I don't think adding experience points and extra skill levels is the way to do it. If you want more depth, the game could use more Turret types and more stuff you can buy in the match (like Juice and Ejector uses). It already takes $1650 to max out all of your skills, which definitely isn't a small amount, and turrets are vital to success as well, so you'll have to invest in those as well.

I like the idea of more turret types.

I suppose all i really want is some sort of new/improved feature that means there is actually a noticeable difference between my class and somebody else using the same class by the end of the game. More customization basically. Any kind of class progression.

i think its fine as it is. what ur saying would just add to the strength of people who have been in the game for a while. if u have ever joined a game late u would know its really hard to kill people who already have like 10 kills and most of their upgrades.
