I have mostly stopped playing but I accept invites from local (Japanese) friends because I know most of them fairly well and because it is nice to ping 16 instead of 250. Last night Punky was getting hammered (in the game) and invited me to bring my Tank in and help out. We were quite successful because he plays a mean Support and we can work together as a team very well. We finally got to Uncle Tullys Funland, which I generally dont like. Thanks to our teamwork we were in the enemy base. If you leave their tube (going towards their base), their ball is to the left of you, and around the corner next to the tube is a turret nub. I had taken out most of their level-2 turrets and they built another on that nub. I had almost taken it out through cheaply hiding around the corner so it couldnt hit me when they upgraded it to 3.0. I charged that jerk out of there! What a jerk!! While it was upgrading, I stood by it because that narrow passage is good for camping. My 2 Supports, Punky and KrizzleyBear followed me in. A few enemies attacked us. Instinctively, I was just thinking about defending my teammates, and took them out before they could kill anyone. Little did I realize I was helping make history. When the turret started coming out of its shell I backed away. Then I realized, What the ****, its red. We were Hotshots. KrizzleyBear had hacked the turret while it was being built. It came out of its shell as a 3.3 dominator for our team, right in front of their main exit! I know I am being easily amused here but I have never seen anyone hack a level-3 turret. Then to turn it into a 3.3, and right in front of their base! Needless to say the victory was soon to follow. And the server went down because the owner was on the losing team. L. Spiro
I once played a game on Spunky where an enemy hacked two level 3 rockits and a level 2 shaveice(no 2 hacked turrets were ever on the board at the same time). My team was actually doing really REALLY well. We were pushing and killing just about everyone almost constantly. Everyone on my team had a k/d of about 2 and I was killing every bot that left the spawn. Then came the hax. Any game where someone hacks a shavice/longshot is a good game in my book. Any game where someone hacks a rockit is a great game. Any game where someone either hacks multiple enemy turrets or hacks a level 3 Rock-it is a game worth remembering.
After crashing yet again, I rejoined my game with Punky. Unfortunately the normal Japanese servers have class limits, and I was forced to play Gunner. Again on Uncle Tullys Funland. Our team was losing hard. I was useless with Gunner. Punky knew that my main was Tank and he offered to change from his Tank so that I could play mine. Unfortunately, Punky was just as useless with his new class (Assault) as I was with Gunner. I intended to make sure his sacrifice was not in Vlane. Although I was able to push them back, I could not gain ground past the middle. They had a damned Firebase in just the right place. Over-time just began. 2 minutes left in the game. If no one hits any balls, we lose due to having less money. I saved my money for a juice. ****, they are coming through our back door. I have to use my juice money on new turrets in the rear. Only 30 seconds left. Firefight with a Gunner in the center against the wall, barely out of range of their Firebase. I won. ****, backups came in. 3 guys. Phew. Took them out. 20 seconds left. Have to get rid of this Firebase. I finally manage a perfect angle where I could get it without it hitting me. 15 seconds left. Hop over their JackBot. Wow, it was nearly dead and I killed it with my Jetgun as I flew over. 10 seconds left. I hop down, turn the corner, jet on top of their glass. 6 seconds left. Have to let my jets refill. If I can just tap their ball once we will win. ****, no time to let them refill. I do a risky jump-charge. If I miss I fall to the ground and have no time to hit their ball. MADE IT. Just let me turn this corner and drop down **** I am stuck on the corner with 2 seconds to go. Adjust, drop, fire. YESSSS!!! I heard 3 Jetgun taps on it before time expired. We won just because of that. Even the losing team said, Wow, good job! 1 turret upgrade, 7-kill streak, Firebase kill, JackBot kill, and finally the only Money Ball damage done in the game. Not my best game, but it was pretty cool. On Ammo Mule. Tank had the high ground on talk of the Anni. I toss my Lvl 3 bomb up and willingly take a few shots to try to blow him away. He actually moved the opposite way of where I thought he was going to, and the blast ended up launching him into a friendly Sniper ice trap. Pulled out my AR and that's all she wrote. Couldn't have planned that if I tried.
