THIS IS NOT ABOUT LEAVING MNC FOR BRINK. Any of you forum goers be willing to share what you think of the game? I'm considering getting it soon and I want to be sure I'm getting my money's worth.
I was wondering exactly the same thing and found it impossible to find a straight forward answer. (Well. it turns out that some of what I found was straight forward. I just wasn't sure I could trust it) What you get: -4 Classes -8 maps (from what I understand I haven't played them all yet) -COMPLETELY objective based gameplay. -Alot of guns some of which you have to unlock -Grips, silencers and scopes for those guns again you have to unlock them. -Three different body types (bigger guys can use big weapons and can take more damage but smaller guys move MUCH quicker) -SMART an awesome system the lets you run, jump climb walls and slide under things all with one button. (smaller guys do more with smart) -A good amount of faces, hairstyles, clothes tatoos to customize your look, much of which you have to unlock. -Challenge modes used to unlock gun upgrades -Unlockable abilities some class specific some global -Bots to play single player with What you DON'T get -An in depth story mode -Great Graphics -Game lobbies -Game modes like death match, CTF, king of the hill ect. -Mickey Cantor  My cousin and I were big ET fans, We were both curious about the game, but dumbfounded by the totally mixed review. Finally, my cousin broke down and bought it, so I went over to his house to see if I was worth buying. It reminded me ALOT of ET. Every map has an objective one team tries to accomplish it. the other simply tries to defend until the time runs out. The game is also big on teamwork and buffing one another, which I love. The bots are really dumb, but IMO not as broken as some reviews might lead you to believe. (I'm used to dumb bots I played Star Wars battlefront a good deal.) The game is MUCH more fun online. Players generally move faster the COD. Small body types move MUCH faster I bought the game on the way home from my cousins house. My only moment of real doubt came when the first online game he joined lagged like all hell. I haven't had ANY lag since, but I haven't played online too much. Of course, the longevity of the game is something that remains to be seen. To put it simply, this game fills a niche that is very similar to the one MNC fills. Although, I'm not going to stop playing MNC, and to be honest, you don't get a ton of content for $60. In fact, bang for your buck wise, MNC beats brink by miles and miles...and miles. but that's ok. I expect MNC to be at the top of my "Bang For You Buck" list for years to come To some people this game's NOWHERE NEAR worth $60 because it's simply not what they're looking for, but I had $60 and Brink is just the kind of shooter I like. I bought it, and I don't regret it. I hope I cleared things up. I know the reviews are hella confusing. I'll be happy to answer specific questions as well.
Brink is fantastic, there is a few issues with some online servers which causes rubber banding, apart from that i cant fault it. On the brink forums ive read loads of different problems that people are having with the 360. Im having none of them with the exception of the lag. The game is fun and it really does help to play as a team because all the the different abilities combined make capturing objectives so much easier. The design is amazing, i saw a few youtube vids before i bought it and i thought the guns looked a bit crap but theyre actually very good. Lots of challenges, horde mode, campaign, sp, plenty of guns/attachments and all game modes are online or co-op. Any game that gives you a minigun and a shotgun as a secondary cant be bad.
From what I can tell from all the reviews: If you loved Wolf:ET or Quake Wars and you're looking for more then you'll love this. If you're looking for single player experience or something more like TF2 then you'll be dissapointed. If you're not playing on PC you will have some bugs which will hopefully be patched soon. If you have an ATI card you may have some bugs which will hopefully be patched soon. So in short: PC + Nvidia + love Enemy Territories then yay! If not then try before you buy.
Yeah.. that's why i said "may". My buddy with an ATI something tried it out this morning and didn't have any problem. Man. I cannot wait for work to be over so I can finally play this game. Stupid late London release
