I think all of the guys who did animation work on the game spent some time animating the pit girl. They seemed to spend a lot of extra time on those animations, sometimes redoing them a few times... I guess they just really wanted to ensure the quality was high.

Haha, that's the first thing most my friends said when i showed them the game this weekend. But yeah all animations are impressive really.

Actually, it's true. AZO broke his arm while working on the game, so he had to animate characters with one hand while the other was in a cast on a pillow.
