    Yeah. You did basically.

Both of those are practically saying "cpu isn't important" or doesn't do much. Which is pretty untrue in most games.

http://www.guru3d.com/article/cpu-scali ... rocessors/ As you can read from this the CPU itself is an extremely important factor until you get to high/extremely high resolutions when the GPU becomes more important.

The fact that your motherboard has an AGP slot at all makes me wonder just how far your other hardware is behind the curve. PCI-E has been around for about seven years now.

If you'd like to believe that go right ahead.

I prefer an i5 in my PC and not a 6-core but you can use that one.

Well then I will, because that is what you said. Maybe it isn't what you MEANT but the tone, direction, and words used in your writing said that. Saying that the cpu "gets bored" and that "most games don't profit from a good cpu" is about as close to flat out saying that the cpu is unimportant as you can get.

I didn't mean it like that, maybe you read it like that, which I can understand.

Basically what I meant is that you should not buy the best CPU available if you want a gaming PC. A decent CPU (i3 for example) will do the job. A CPU is not unimportant, but if my processor never goes over 50% and usually sits at 20% while playing, I don't see the point of buying a better one and rather buy a new graphics card if I'm having troubles.

That's what I thought when he mentioned AGP. That's like 03 old.

It's a config file.. as long as they didn't update the commands in it, then it should be fine. If they added new commands to it, you can just add those to the config and it will work good as new.

With my way I turn off most everything except dynamic decals, turn the screen percentage to 50 set myself to a lower resolution.

If you want a little extra you can turn directional lighting on. Its pretty good looking at the cost of 5 FPS overall on my system.

Once you get onto the main menu, press Tab to go into the command, them type
setres 800x600. That should make the game a bit more bearable to play on an AGP card.
