It's true, they're basically useless except for extra pounding on jackbots and catching gapshots when you forget to, but generally I haven't had them shoot walls at all, and the only things that come from the back in single player are slimbots, which I can kill with my hurt gun just fine. I generally don't build the longshots until I've reached round 60 or so anyway, and I almost never have the shields go down without getting incapacitated by a jackbot or three until then.

The worst thing in the first 60 rounds are the scrambler/blackjack waves; I can't intervene if they're getting too close without losing a hack.

Posting again to keep the tips coming for Single player Blitz. ;)

    Had my best round yet:
    664 rounds

    1) Gold: Skill, Silver: Speed, Bronze: ROF
    2) One ShaveIce, under bridge.
    3) 2 Long Shot turrets in back corners.
    4) 2 Lazer Blazer's at back spawns.
    5) Firebase front edge of center front Ejector circle.
    6) Everything else RockIt turrets.

Having the ShaveIce under the bridge gives you a lot of protection and slows down the nasty little Black Jack bots that are running so fast.

    With Skill recovery as your Gold custom endorsement you can keep 4 hacks going;
Two center front RockIt turrets, your Firebase and the one ShaveIce.

By making it a priority to keep that ShaveIce hacked you stop all Bouncers.
It also gives you alert notice of Gremlins, which can easily be taken out with the shotgun once near it.

To be honest I could have kept going but I was getting a bit tired at that point.

I usually run skill/rof/regen for blitz and get speed pickups from jackbots and bullseye(or bacon) and stay alive the whole game.

I really need to make another attempt at sudden death this saturday, just so I can beat my last record of 829. That shave-ice thing could be a huge help, though I think I'll keep from hacking it or the firebase; I've found when the shields do go down, it's due to side blackjacks, and not hacking any of the centre or side turrets could be deadly for my play style, I think. Well done on 664, that's pretty up there on the rankings. You'll be beating me before long.

Never did say, this startup helped a lot for me:
I've been screwing around in super sudden death with a tank from across the Atlantic. Got to the 80s. Think I'd do better with another support on my side to hack more. Would also have less trouble with gapshots due to the second firebase, and I wouldn't need the shaveices if the tank had more hacked turrets and healing support.

...I play on a LAN with my two sons and tonight we're having a Blitz/Pizza party so with the new updates I'm stoked. I'll try and report back after we punish the bots.
btw, did you notice we get more money now? Yeah! :D

While it's nothing to brag about, I got to round 344 solo, which beat my previous best of 202. No Bacon this time, so there goes a few extra rounds.

I ran Skill Reg, Armour, RoF (which is a mirror of my Crossfire Support with RoF gold.)
I'd definitely try run Speed in one of the slots next time I have enough spare time to attempt this. It's tough luck if you die after round ~80 when Bullseye doesn't come down anymore (meaning less safe Speed pickups.)

The back corners aren't in any regular range to hit anything if they were Rockits to get a decent amount of damage, I used Longshots, however they're only great when you're getting swamped. Many times I found waves being cleared, then for the next 5 seconds, the Longshot artillery comes raining down.

I placed a ShaveIce under the front bridge and under the circle, near spawn. Could've done without the spawn one, but the extra slowdown when I'm trying to ejector Gremlins did help. Accidentally placed a spare Shaveice next to the frontal one, took about 10 Jackbots before it finally got destroyed. The lack of firepower was noticeable without a RockIt 3 there.

Also, I remembered seeing some wily Supports place their Firebases on the thin walls in Crossfire, and I was able to land my Firebase on top of the Scoreboard such that it could target Gapshots. Mostly just to make sure it could be taken down if my frontal 3.3 RockIts were occupied (with a Jackbot.)

...Someone updated the unofficial wiki with a good tip (foto)

3.3 Shaveice under bridge <-Mandatory, always keep it hacked.

ShaveIce on each side against the wall.
They do a great job slowing down the other spawn entrances.

Firebase on the scoreboard eh? Gotta try that. :D

    Additional notes:

    1) Visit the wiki Support class page:
    http://mondaynightcombat.wikia.com/wiki/Support

    2) Study the wiki Blitz mode page:
    http://mondaynightcombat.wikia.com/wiki/Blitz

    3) Learn to use the Heal/Hurt gun properly:
(It can save your hide from Gremlins and Buzzers.)
    http://mondaynightcombat.wikia.com/wiki/Heal/Hurt_Gun

    4) Tips
    a) Create a lvl3 Shaveice under the center front bridge and keep it hacked.
    b) Place your Firebase on the front pedestal centered with the scoreboard.
    c) Do not build any Blazers.
    d) At all times use your Hurt gun to gain Juice and keep your health up.
    e) Spend the rest of your time Healing Turrets.
    f) Stand in-front of waves of bots to block them while using your Hurt gun.
    g) When playing Blitz with others you need to split-up, someone take the sides.
    h) Use the bounce pads to escape crowds of bots as you toss Air Strikes on them.
    i) When multiple Bouncers attack use your Hurt gun and turn circles around your hacked Shaveice as your Rockits hack them to pieces.
    j) To escape the dark blue Buzzers run backward as you use your Hurt gun.
    k) Don't be afraid to stand in the way of Scramblers to block their approach while using your Hurt gun on them.
    l) Use your Airstrikes, Juice and Shotgun to defend from multiple Jackbots.
    * Jump on the front bridge, toss Air Strikes on a Jackbot, wait, Juice, jump down with your Shotgun while jumping and firing point-blank. When your Juice runs out get back on the bridge.

I'm curious Penelope, did you manage to get the Firebase onto the Scoreboard?
If so, what did you think about the placement being there?

Also, if playing with multiple supports on Blitz, then maybe have one or two people have a Level 3 Firebase nearer the middle, in case a teammate needs healing, but the Supports are dealing with a badly-damaged Turret?

Another tip, if not using your Firebase for the scoreboard area, it'd be a good idea to pick it up when it's low health if you've already filled the juice bar. Although you'll have to wait for the Skill to regenerate, it'll be better than letting it get destroyed and wait for the whole circle-bar to regen. Combine either with Churro pickups and it'll mean a quicker re-deployment.

No I haven't, also had my 2 sons try, we can't find a way to get it on the Scoreboard.
They're usually pretty crafty with these things but we're at a loss.

Last night I was on a Blitz server with 3 other Supports.
We had all 4 Firebases in a line from the Scoreboard pedestal to the bridge.
Was awesome. We didn't have to watch the front area at all other than waves of Jackbots.

As for picking up the Firebase, yes I do that at times.
When it's on that front pedestal it doesn't need much attention of course.

I can clear the entire front with my Airstrikes, Hurt gun, Shotgun.
The Firebase just has to watch for Gapshots.
Of course you can keep the front Rockits at 3.3 but even then they don't always see Gapshots, especially when the dark blue Buzzers spawn in numbers.

I'll try do a quick video of getting the Firebase placement later, maybe to help me get the feel of the extra editing programs I "have." Will have to load a blitz map without Blitz being on (opposite version of running a Crossfire map on Blitz mode,) that's some extra google-fu I could try.

The basic method I tried was standing on the pedestal, jumping while aiming around 60 degrees up and deploying your firebase at the top of the jump.

Firebase spam does seem interesting, especially with said line. That method probably brings out more of the Tower Defence aspect of MNC as well. It could lead to strategic placement where it may make the bots take a further detour.

I haven't used the Shotgun enough, probably should try test what it's like against bots though.

Not very good. Much better against pros, but that's irrelevant here.

Would be helpful to give some Shotgun tips.

As an example, on Blitz I've stopped using it for Gremlins.
The Hurt gun while backing up in circles around a lvl3.3 Shavice is much faster and safer.

On Blitz I only seem to use the Shotgun now:
    a) Juiced against Jackbots.
    b) Fending off large packs of Bouncers.

For Gremlins and Buzzers the Hurt gun seems to work better.

Update: Got the Firebase on the Scoreboard.

Trick is to aim higher than the actual target spot.

I wasn't able to hack it once it got there and it couldn't see the spawn exits.
Doesn't seem to be a better placement than the front Pedestal.

Well for about half or more of the times I managed to get the Firebase onto the scorboard, it was in range for it to damage. I'll probably try see if I can mess around with the maps (had a few assignments to do over the weekend) soon. Another thing you could try do it get it on the closest edge (towards the ball) or on one of the sides.

One attempt basically only covered one spawn, leaving the other side open.

I would still say landing it on the Scoreboard is just for the fun of it (until it can be landed on the direct middle and have the areas within it's range), the pedestal still is the best place.

    Cool.

I'm still experimenting with it and watching what other Support Pros on the servers do.

    My prefs:
    1) First 10 rounds keep it on front ejector pad.
    2) 10th round move it left or right of the moneyball as backup to distract the Jackbot.
    3) 11th round and onward, keep it on the front pedestal for Gapshot protection.

With 3 Support Pros the other 2 Firebases seem to do the most good where the side spawning bots turn as the dark blue Blackjacks that spawn later are pretty fast.

Had been looking at this thread quite a while ago (or sometime after I bought MNC). Took a few goes at figuring out what was best but it seems that overall everything as RockIts and having the Ice Shave under bridge was the best.

Keeping the upfront 2 RockIts and the Ice-Shave hacked constantly as the norm and while picking up churros to be able to keep up a 4th hacked equipment (turret on the upper platform near the scoreboard) was the way to go (w/ Gold skill recovery)

Everything else just seemed to be random. The only thing that can go wrong during solo is when you get jackbot spawns over and over and after using your annihilator and juices, you do seem to take a beating.

After reaching round 1227, I don't think I'll be doing it again, in the end it was just an endurance test. How long can you be bothered to keep it up.

The worst part of getting a record in sudden death is seeing it wiped the next time there's a balance change. I can't be arsed to go very far nowadays. If they wipe it again I'll just ignore it and move on.

...The Jackbot buildups do indeed take the fun out of it.
After you experience endless waves of Jackbots "frustrated" doesn't come close to expressing the feeling.
I love Blitz mod, SP and MP, but am not playing it anymore until this is addressed.
Good thing for me Sanctum is released tomorrow.
