Currently the charge grapple deals 450 damage, instakilling non armored assaults, supports without passive 3, and snipres and assasins who dont use gold armor. Anyone think that's a bit excessive?
It's fine. Assassins who get grappled isn't doing their job anyways. Charging supports comes at a terrible risk. And snipers... well they had their chance to headshot the assault at range.
It's pretty easy to see coming. Just... jump? Then they have no quick method of escape, and they are probably in a swarm of bots/teammates if you are doing it right.
Assassin LungeGrapple deals 475 damage instakilling just about anyone below Tank/Gunner that doesn't have armor. Assaults will be left with 25 health after that and once that grapple finishes that Assassin is going to get a final slash in before you can even jump(not like the jump saves you anyway) On top of that, Assassins don't have to spend $550 to get that kind of killing power, is that a bit excessive?
Charge grapple is ******* garbage, I'd prefer to have it deal 300 damage and do knockdown like the tank one, the grapple is just ewww.
Assassinating without your sword is a bad idea, as is doing so without upgrading Dash and Cloak, unless it's early enough in the game that nobody has many upgrades yet. Sins are also paper dolls.
It pretty much is just crap. Pretty much every class can manage to sneak a regular grapple in before the charge connects. So many times where I should have charged an Assassin right off the map only to get facestabbed followed by slashed all to hell because for some godforsaken reason Assassins recover from a grapple faster than their target does Then there's the exception for the Tank jetcharge which is the equivalent of hitting a steel wall coated in flubber because that forward burst of speed means absolutely nothing Let's not forget that the Assault charge(minus grapple) has the equivalent knockback of a wet paper bag It's a 25 damage difference, which still leaves an Assault with 50 health left which is STILL gone in a single slash Dagger+Facegrapple = 450 damage Sword+Facegrapple = 475 damage Dagger damage = 50 Sword damage = 75 Assault health = 500 Might as well make the lungegrapple do 500 total damage as 9 times out of 10 the Assassin can get that slash in before you can charge at them(assuming you didn't waste it trying to charge them in the first place)
Your numbers are not correct. Sword grapple from front is 150x3, dagger front is 400. Either of these is generally preceded by a lunge (to the front) for 134/167 damage. Back lunges are 201/250.5. So 534 or 617 damage depending on dagger or sword. Gold armor assault has 750 health. So Lunge+Facegrapple plus Lunge is a dead assault regardless with sword. Takes two post grapple lunges with dagger.
You do realize that gold armor for assault gives 150 hp right? And base is 500? 500+150?=750 I R GUD AT MATHS
What? Gold armor is 250 for medium. 225 for light and 300 for heavy. Last I checked 500 plus 250 is 750. I'll check on windows calculator. ... Yep, still 750.
I never gave this much thought, I feel it should be allowed to do that for stucking the assault in an animation for 2-3 seconds which gives teamplayers lots of time to screw him over and perhaps even kill him before he manages to finish the animation. It hurts yes, but you just need to avoid it? Personally I only use the charge to either charge assassins and snipers or enter or leave a combat zone.
The damage is appropriate for a $400 investment. And you can just jump and charge if you do not want to grapple. Thank god uber fixed the damage on level 3 charges in the air. Atleast its an option now to deal damage instead of ONLY a fast cooldown escape tool.
