1. You shouldn't drop stars for winning in a game, kills/deaths shouldn't be counted in star rating points. It promotes working solo and not actually working in a team which is what this game is about. 2. Turret kills/assists/bot kills should attribute towards star points in some way or another. If I'm truly honest star rating is the worst thing about this game, it doesn't actually mean anything and when teams get auto-balanced by star rating it's just ridiculous.
While these are legitimate points and I agree you should just get over the stars. You bitch and moan way too much about that one thing.
Yeah I do bitch and moan a lot about it because it's easily the worst part of the game by a country mile. It's not needed, it doesn't work, it makes people selfish and it's just stupid. So I will continue to bitch and moan about it until Uber does something about it.
I think knowing what the stars are actually based on would help us a lot. You can't make these points because you don't even know what the stars are based on. Some of my friends have thought that it is based on $ per minute. In reply to your points, 1. KDR is very important. If not the KDR, then at least the not dying. If you die, you are giving at MINIMUM $25 to the enemy team. if they taunt they get $75. If it's a grapple they get base $50, or a ring out base $75, and with taunt that is $125 to the enemy team for a single kill, and taking out 16% of your team for a minimum of 10 seconds, more depending on how fast you get back in to combat. Then if you factor in kill streaks, the enemy team could be getting up to $225 off of that single kill - nearly enough for an annihilator. So not only is your death significantly reducing your team presence, it is also giving them the means to destroy every single bot your team has, or upgrade turrets or buy skills or juice. Additionally, it deletes all of your juice, further hindering you. On the flip side, getting kills does all of that to the enemy team. Having a bad kdr means you are contributing significantly to the enemy team. 2. Turret kills/assists/bot kills should attribute towards star points in some way or another. You get money for all of those things, and as far as I can tell * rating is based on $/min, so they are contributing to it in some way. End analysis: don't make QQ posts raging about things you know nothing about, it just makes you look ignorant and incompetent, and causes you to lose credibility in future posts which might otherwise be decent.
I think a good compromise would be to make it so if you're team wins, you're star rating can only go up (and it will stay the same if it would have gone down according to the current system). If your team loses, your star rating can either go up or down (using the current system's algorithm).
star rating should also go down when you quit early or be adjusted on the fly/multiple times during a game far too many high star number high lvl players quit just before or just after they lose and then re join so that their star rating does not go down it makes a joke of the star system there also needs to be some clarity as to how the star system actually works
Jesus Christ. The star system is fairly new and needs refinement. They are already working on that. If it isnt preventing you from joining a ton of servers, stop whining about it. I am the only one here who has a legitimate reason to cry about the star system because it actually has a huge impact on my game. For the rest of you, its in the background. #1: Who cares if others are manipulating their stars?? How does that impact your game?? #2: Who cares if others brag?? How does that impact your game?? You cant ignore them? If they werent bragging about the star system they would be bragging about levels. Or world ranking. Braggers gonna brag bro. U MAD? #3: Who cares if your star rating goes up or down? If your rating is preventing you from joining a ton of servers where you have good pings, and forces you to play on 300+ pings, then you can reasonably whine about it. If all you want is a higher rating so you can brag about it, then shut the #^&! up. Due to my location, the star system often forces me to play on servers where I ping over 300. This is a legitimate reason for me to hate the star system. And this is why I forcibly keep my rating to 3 stars. I dont have a personality disorder, so I dont care if people are impressed by my stars or if they think I am a newbie, nor do I care if they use stars to brag. It doesnt affect how strong I am in the game. Get over it, or be consumed by a personality disorder. Those are your choices. L. Spiro
Meh, this is like the 3rd time i've seen the OP complain about the star rating. It JUST came out, there are BUGS that need fixing. GIVE IT SOME TIME.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB GGs the other day though Yeah, that is a legit issue, but I remember before the assault nerf patch, I was getting in to 1 star servers with 5 star rating, so at least they fixed it. Also, the fact that you can forcibly lower yours (though obviously is doable) is another flaw, because it means that a good play can lower their rating just to grief newbs in low star servers.
