I am very new to the game so I apologize if this has been covered, I searched but couldn't find anything about it. If I have some friends I want to play with, is there a way to make sure we are all on the same team when we join a crossfire game?
Most servers allow you to. At the top of the player list you can pick Icemen or Hotshots as a preferred team before they are divided
Yeah, but if you had a group of 6 pub-stomper friends, they'd all end up on the same team and steamroll everyone.
Friend priority would be a terrible thing. Sure, some of your Steam friends might be your actual friends, but in my experience, good players tend to friend other good players in Steam games. 90% of my friends list is made of TF2 and MNC players who I recognized as good players or who recognized me as a good player. Add competitive teams (theoretically) into the mix, and you'll have the game automatically creating horribly stacked teams in almost every game. Besides, I think it's better that people can SEE when you pick/stack teams.
Easiest thing is to all agree on a certain team, and everyone choose that team right as the countdown is at 10~11 seconds, so as to minimize the chance that other noobs mess it up.
I've been trying to switch teams between games, but have not been able to figure out how. What am I supposed to click exactly to get assigned to a team?
the team color on the top-right of the screen (hotshots, random, icemen) when you're in the lobby waiting for the round to start but i think i heard that when you and a friend chooses hotshots for example, the other people could then all choose hotshots so that it would randomly assign players to teams, which might break you and your friend on two different teams
I call that a "feature". If people are team stacking, that gives the other players on the server a way to say "no more"
Yes....that was exactly my point. If u choose at the last second, all the other rando's dont have time to react.
No, they get locked at slightly after that. So you can still choose your team slightly before the lock.
I hate the team select in this game. Unless its been patched the first 6 people to choose a team get in. so if 10 people choose one team the first 6 get it no matter what. You can't force a scramble by piling up on one team.
