there is no captions in this game!? I downloaded the free weekend on Steam and only played 20 minutes wondering around like a lost man looking for directions. Does this have a story? What are the announcers saying? "What do I have to do?"

Because of this, I failed the missions.

There is NO excuse for not having captions in in this day and age. Almost all other games have them in for a reason - to help deaf/hearing impaired people enjoy the same level as hearing-abled people.

Sorry you will not get any of my money for this game until captions are implemented.

You can read how to play the game in "How to play" section.

While this actually is a legitimate point of criticism for tutorial its hardly enough to warrant not playing the game which only uses the announcer as silly funny stuff in multiplayer and even single player coop. So its probably not worth it at all to add captions.

Yes the tutorial is weak but if you came this far to express your opinion at least stick around the site to let us help you learn to play.

You do realize the irony when talking to a deaf person, right? I know deaf =/= mute, but still...

"pull out your mortar and shoot the bots, now reload, continue to fire at the bots, WATCH OUT! AN ASSAULT IS SHOOTING YOU! PULL OUT YOUR MINIGUN AND KILL HIM! Quickly, run around the corner and taunt to gain bonus money!"

that's basically what came to my mind, a step by step instructions to playing crossfire, although it's not really a game selling point for me

First off we all had to figure out what to do in this game just as you did and we soon came to enjoying it. Secondly you just have to learn how to play the game on your own, through people in game, or by the forums.
Lastly the story is you are a clone on two teams pitted against each other every monday night for the entertainment of others.

what cantor says aren't really any important game-changing tactics, just adds to the fun and for sure you'll hear a lot more of those if you play on, just like real sports show narrators, you miss a few lines sometimes

And the sound of smoke bombs. And audio alerts for money ball status. And the Sins cloak.

And the sound of players triggering juice nearby.

And the sound of Jackbots spawning.

    Bullseyes entrance

    etc etc.

There's a lot more audio feedback in this game than you give it credit for. Maybe not enough for you to consider it a no-play, but you don't notice how much you take it for granted while you play.

It would be more screen clutter, but an option for something in the top left corner to say "Annihilator Ready", "Moneyball Health = 50%", "Shield's Restored"... would be nice for those who can't hear.

Like posted above, there are a TON of audio ques in this game, that make playing it without sound frustraiting.

Assassins, have a ton of audio ques, that you need to hear to be able to counter them, heck everything does.

This is not ubers fault though the same could be said for every game.

They could write all the announcer sayings on the screen (as an option to turn on) but that won't change much.

And if they added things like a symbol above your head when an assassins hum can be heard, well Id use that 24/7 lol.

It sucks, but this is something the hearing impaired have to live with if they want to play video games. And in the end, they make up a very very small portion of the game buying community, which means there is no push to finding other options in games.

    Good Point.

What game is similar to MNC and is friendly to the hearing impaired? I don't even think TF2 is. Half-life is, but I exploit that to hell and back. Who here doesn't use captions to make obvious zombies obvious, and even make the difference between zombies and much worse headcrab-nesting-zombies easier to tell? I do, deaf or not I can bearly hear a distant "ruurrrr", but I can always read "Zombie Moan" and "Nest-Zombie Moan".

Anyway, other than screwing assassins by giving everyone a huge sign announcing they are nearby... I also agree on announcements like overtime and annihilator and stuff (the shields and moneyball health are actually already announced, maybe more signs in that corner like there already are?)

What makes you come to that conclusion? This is actually a case of audism and we really hate audists. Actually there are more deaf people than you think.

well who do you think buys more games, hearing impaired people or non hearing impaired people? It is not being mean, it is just the truth.

And i do not think anyone here is an audist, I do not think many people in life are audists, and their number will definitely be way lower than racists.

What I do like though is that you only replied to one post, and you replied with venom. I call troll.

I'm hearing impaired and I know the pain of the OP, only thing you can do in this kind of game is to develop a sixth sense and to jump around like a crazy mad man.
