Well, this is what I got from Wikipedia: 1. Renbu is gone. 2. Unique weapons are back. 3. Aerial combos and musou attacks are introduced. 4 You can dual wield. 5. Pandas and elephants are support animals! 6. Musou mode is now Kingdom based, instead of character based. I've loved these games since I was really little. I think the fact they they haven't changed, like at all is a good thing! I want the same game with a couple new features and better graphics every time!
as long as chars are still super saiyan's (transforming, flying, jumping 500feet into the air) im not buying this game anymore. my last version was DW6: empires
That was only in DW: Strikeforce. I played 6 last and there was none of that. You might be thinking of Renbu, where you move really fast, but that's gone.
Wikia's probably a good deal behind on info. It's out in Japan officially on Thursday, though some folks have already gotten copies of it and posted vids on YouTube(there's a lot of them already). Infoinfoinfo... Combat: No more Renbu, it's back to the old style system with different charged attacks after each hit in the regular combos. When you switch weapons, you get an attack or effect related to one of them(you can equip any two weapons on any officer). If you use an officer's preferred(EX) weapon, you get an extra attack you can perform on a specific charge attack. Regardless of the weapon you equip, officers always use their preferred weapon for their Musou attacks. Which they now have two of. Depending on the officer they either have an alternate one on the ground or an aerial one. Weapons: There are thirty-six types each with ten tiers, so yes there are a number of cloned movesets but there's still EX and Musou attacks which are unique to each officer as well as using an officer's preferred weapon gives it a skin other officers can't use. You can equip different seals for various effects, basically an item system for the weapons themselves(there are no items). Officers: Every officer that's been in a DW game pretty much has returned, except for Pang De, Zuo Ci, and the gods Fu Xi and Nu Wa(yes they were actually gods). New officers for every kingdom. Shu: Ma Dai: Ma Chao's cousin, fights with a giant calligraphy brush Guan Suo: Guan Yu's fictional third son, uses nunchaku Bao Sanniang: fictional wife for fictional Guan Suo, uses...a yoyo Liu Shan: the bastard Zhao Yun rescues in Chang Ban, uses a rapier Wu: Ding Feng: later-era general, beats things to a pulp with the same gauntlets as Meng Huo Lian Shi: Sun Shang Xiang's attendant(and later Sun Quan's favorite wife), uses a crossbow Wei: Jia Xu: crazy strategist that uses something suspiciously similar to a kusarigama Cai Wenji: that chick that always was in trouble in DW6E, uses a harp Jin: Sima Yi: he's using a fan again Sima Shi: Yi's first son, uses a rapier Sima Zhao: Yi's second son, uses a dao sword Wang Yuanji: Zhao's wife, uses throwing knives Zhuge Dan: Zhuge Liang's cousin, uses a feather fan Guo Huai: sickly minister that uses...an arm cannon Zhong Hui: failed a revolt against Jin, uses five flying swords Deng Ai: guy that captured the Shu Han capitol Chengdu, uses a drill-lance Xiahou Ba: Xiahou Yuan's son, uses a bigass sword And that's the tl;dr version. Read moar here. Or watch a trailer here. Or watch a gameplay vid here.
DW 6 didn't impress me, I didn't really like it. But I still love the game. Lu Bu, Sima Yi, and the dude under Cao Cao that uses the club thing!
The DW7 artbook has found it's way to modern-day China. Scans here. The animesque artwork looks pretty good this time.
*bump* If anyone's interested, you can get all sixty-seven tracks off the game's soundtrack now from the usual source. I'm as skeptical as I am curious after DW6's barely-mediocre soundtrack :|
I haven't cared for DW since DW4....me and a friend unlocked all the level 10 special weapons for every character.
*bumpity-bump* Oh, it's out tomorrow. Apparently it can be picked up tonight and if you harass the staff at stores other than GameSwap, you can get it today. EDIT: HAY UBER. No fair fixing exploits in your own forum.
Looking forward to this release. Comes out 8th of April over here, so just over a week to wait. Anyone have any details on the new house/family you'll be able to play through as?
Well, i've almost always played as Lu Bu because he's F@#$ing awesome. But It would seem that the story mode doesn't have you pick any one character.
