Hey, Not sure if this is the right place for this. Tonight I was playing a few good hours of MNC with a sturdy group of randoms, and all was well. However, there was one player who, for what must have been upwards of two hours, never chose a class and never entered the game. More precisely, it seemed as though they had left their console on and left. Consequently, they still earned the base $300 from each game, plus the $50 every 30 seconds, plus (I think) the extra $1000 if their team won. In the event that his team won in OT he was pulling close to $3k per game without doing anything. Normally, I wouldn't care about this. It's a dirty move to gain rankings but so be it. However, it was a great server in that the teams were always competitive, which is why nobody was leaving. But this chump was scamming moola and taking up a spot that could have been used by somebody else. Just thought I'd say my two cents.
It's not even the cheapness that I have an issue with. I mean, what is the value of ill-gotten ranking? So people think you're good? That's something that will be betrayed when the low-level scrubs go to school on them. The issue is more that this guy is taking up space, and it should be an easy fix. If you don't class-up, you don't get paid. Take away the reward and mitigate the offenders. Alternatively, if the player is idle for too long, invoke an auto-drop? In all honesty, it's the first time I've ever seen it. I don't play as religiously as some people, but I think I play fairly often. I guess it hasn't become an epidemic yet so hasn't received serious consideration?
If the player wasn't host within 30 seconds they would get booted. If they are host they stay until they leave themselves. Yes cheap but oh well.
This. I like this. Don't pick a class? Don't get paid! Incidentally, is this me you're referring to? Because I did go eat and forget to turn my xbox off. For some reason, I assumed shutting off my T.V. would turn my Xbox off as well. If not, then oh well. If so..... my bad.
I honestly think Uber has bigger problem to sort out but I guess it would be nice to have this on their list.
If your GT is Randomdude02 then it wasn't you. A fellow by the name of despicable hat or demonic hat or something like that. I think I've played with him before and he seemed respectable. Maybe it was just a mistake. Oh I agree there's bigger things, but like I said, I think it's a fairly easy fix. It also keeps the leader-board legit which is always nice. Just wanted it to be out there so that maybe we see it in a future update.
Just to clear things up players have been doing this since MNC first launched on the 360 and it still hasn't been changed. There have been two patch updates and countless users pointing it out and still no fix.
Guess I've just been lucky not to have seen it. What do they say though? For every guy who complains there are a thousand who feel the same way? I don't expect to make a difference, just to add my voice.
pssht, i say let them... theyll eventually be at jackbot level with slim skills, i think its hilarious.
I'd like to see this addressed, but there's just bigger stuff at hand. I don't know why everyone equates earnings with skill, however. It's a very good general estimate, but not that accurate. My problem is that I gleam a little pride for being on the top. I put work into it, and I'd prefer for others to do the same. Otherwise it just loses it's meaning a little bit.
Boosting honestly doesn't bother me. I just know that even though they might be a high rank, it doesn't automatically mean they're good.
Demonic Hat is a booster. I played with him the other day. Never chose a class and his team always lost.
