I'll be a doll and just post what you need but, I got a guest pass because the game didn't stop crashing last time I played it. Now i'm desperate to try it because half way through a game or at the end of a round it'll crash.
There are issues with running our game on a 32bit OS with too much memory installed. The short answer is our game uses a lot of memory and we're hitting a flaw with how 32 bit Windows graphics drivers handle systems with more than 4 gigs of total RAM (combined system and video). You should be able to run the game by setting the shadow detail setting one notch down from the default, though you may have to set the texture detail down one notch as well depending on how many programs you have running in the background.
Strangely enough I never had this problem with 32-bit XP, but have been having it a lot since I upgraded (clean install) to 64-bit Win7 whenever I alt-tab. 4 gigs of RAM, GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB, Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale 3.16GHz Again I have really only noticed it when I alt-tab, but I just find it strange that it never happened once in 32-bit XP but a lot in 64-bit Win7.
The Noid - Alt tabbing with the Unreal Engine 3 has always been a harrowing experience at best. His logs show specifically that DirectX is erroring with an out of memory check. Are you getting the same error in your log when alt-tabbing or just having the game crash with a DX9Viewport.dll error?
Yeah, I already bumped the shadows down one notch from searching on how to resolve this issue. Thats why I was at a complete loss as to what to do. I'll try the texture thing and, try to eliminate more background programs.
