I was looking in to buying MNC, but i really only have one question. i was wondering about the community size. I don't want to spend my money on an online game that not very many people play. thanks in advance for any answers.
It's easy to find a server with good ping even at odd hours here in the EU. And you can play on east coast servers too.
It can be tough during off hours in the Midwest. A lot of the servers are only half full. But 75% of the time I do not have trouble.
I can easily find 2-3 servers with under 60 ping that have a good number of players in it. I usually get around 30 servers that aren't full or empty.
Same here, I can find enough servers with ping under 60 at 2-4am in germany when I don't wanna sleep.
Love this game, hope more people play it. With that said, I believe in honesty And on the west coast, you will find about 3 servers on average with open slots within the <100 ping range, and most of them are being stomped by steam group teams, so they are just a never ending series of new players joining and leaving. I say buy it, its cheap and its a lot of fun, and the more people that play the less this will be a problem. It only takes 12 to make a server, so thats already a huge benefit.
I would have to say the community is at a pretty good size. I play at random hours (east coast) and I can always find a server to play on. Also, I have personally had more fun playing this game than COD: Black Ops... and think of the price difference.
The server numbers I've seen for the region nearish Australia aren't too bad, but is better during the school holidays/weekends. Although we've got too many available servers, you'd usually see 2 or 3 full ones during weeknights, and as many as 60% of listed servers being full when it's an optimum time. I don't even remember experiencing noticable lag when I even try servers with 200 to 300 ping, well comparable to the lag one might experience with TF2 on servers with said ping. I find it amazing I could still be a competent player in such conditions.
Honestly smaller games with only 2-4 people are way more fun than clobberfests. Even if you just find a server with one or two players you are good to go, and that is pretty easy to do. L. Spiro
