2019 Orbital Balance

    This thread is for serious and organized discussion about orbital balance. Balance can be highly subjective so solid data is encouraged but not required. This will be one of 5 threads.
    I want the threads to foster intelligent discussion about balance that people may have, and they will require people to post: (you can include multiple changes in one post, but this thread doesn't encourage large reworks)
    1. Your vision of what the unit or category of units should perform on the battlefield
    2. Exactly what you want to change about the unit or group of units
    3. Why you want to change this unit
    4. How you think your change will impact the battlefield
    5. (optional, yet highly desired) data showing exactly how the new changes affect balance
    For clarification, these and only these units may be included in proposed balance changes: (Obviously, you can still talk about other unit interactions, like how spinners are ground units but they only shoot air. But spinner changes are reserved for the ground thread) Ignore legion units.

    1. artemis more used against omegas and orbitalplay not devolving into omegaspam
    2. increase omegacost and buff artemis hp slightly to be more survivable ..
    3. omega too prevalent in lategame multiplanetplay ..
    4. better counterplay in orbital with artemis being more used for its longrange hard hitting role both against omegas and stationaary orbital structures ..

    Overall, I believe orbital units are fine, except Omega.
    Currently, it doesn't match its high price (near half of one titan).

    The real question is: what's the role of Omega.
    If it is for tanking damage, please make it more durable (increase HP)
    If it is for countering Avenger, please increase its rate of fire or increase HP.

    I also provide another new idea, make it a slow but long range siege unit.
    Make it out range Umbrella, but no AOE.
    Thus, it can slowly clear the umbrella on the ground, but still countered by mobile anti-orbit unit Bluehawk.
    And this still keeps Omega away from spam since it is not cost-efficient against Avenger and Artemis.

    it feels more like a anti avenger vessel ... it´s for breaking into a heavily guarded orbital area to then be able to attack or invade the surface as the omega itself does little damage to groundstructures .. so you bring ssx with it or orbital fabbers for a beachhead ...
    or in case of gasgiants you bring artemis allong .. i don´t think it should be a strong siegeunit but rather a escortship which it fullfils more than well already ..
