It's been a good 5 years or so since we've had our hands on the game. How about we share some of our favourite moments/memories from our time with the game? Here's a couple of mine to start us off: Skip to 19:13 for this last one...
Gotta find it first. It was on Frozen Oreo Yogurt? Co-cast with River? Air Force over Storms and an Atlas Titan that couldn't attack because it was penned in.
For the longest time I had almost no time to play PA so videos were the only way to keep me interested in / connected to PA (thanks Marshall, Zaphod, Brian Purkiss, Andreas, etc). I still remember my 1st online game, I actually sent it to Brian @ pamatches and he casted it: The biggest "waow" moment in a PA video was when Clopse came back and managed to win with a Vanguard drop (I can't find that video again). I also remember seeing the 1st good symmetrical team maps (by you Marshall and TETC) and that boosted my interest in the game. Another fun moment was the "battle for the ant"; the build up to the actual game was super fun on the forums. The "king of the planet" events were also incredibly fun.
That one time from an age long passed when Clopse killed a tank with a bot fabber. A real oldie if I do say so.
Over the years I've seen @Clopse come up with many unique, unexpected tactics. He's not afraid to think outside of the box.
Remember when everyone kept asking for he unit cannon so they "implemented" the unit cannon by renaming the T1 tank to unit cannon. The worlds production of salt tripled that day.
Real orchestra for the recording of the PA sound track. How awesome was that! Kickstarter-enabled extravaganza.
Balance was way off in those days. I remember playing a tournament when T2 air got buffed and T2 fighters got removed. I played against Burned Custard and lost because I missed his T2 air going up by 1-2 seconds and when it did go up I couldn't reach it because of terrain. That was the day I gave up on competitive PA and started looking for a good balance mod.
Yes, that's the one, thanks! Games 1 and 3 are amazing. Yes there are a few moments in these games that must have hurt. The locusts in game 1 reminded me of this clip:
I think from when naval units were new? It's from 5 years ago, so I'm not sure anymore. And while I am at it, the good-old nuke competitions.
I love me some Marshall and Zaphod dual casts but my favourite ZaphodX solo video moment is at 25:30 in this video:
