Thanks to some terrific and helpful troubleshooting from SXX, we finally resolved the issue trying to play the latest PA (v.75740) on the ASUS ROG G751 gaming laptop. Symptoms: Planet orbit lag unit lag build progress bar lag basically lag on everything. To varying lengths. Sometimes not updating the scene for minutes (once I managed to get about 20 troops built) Solution: KILL ROG Gamefirst III service I didn't even know what this was before. Just some crapware. It crashes when I try to look at the network monitor tab so it's clearly broken and must have been causing problems. Thanks again SXX!
Added it to the list already. What is most interesting about this problem it's did caused huge lags while OP played on local server which is bind to loopback (127.0.0.1).
Hi everybody, I have the exact same problem - except ... none of the software mentioned is installed on my computer. Any input? Regards sidenote: I'am running on a ASUS 27" ROG 144Hz monitor
And you are sure it's the exact same problem? When you play an AI Skirmish game, you suffer from lots of lag as well?
I have the same lag problem but the only program I saw on the list that I have is FRAPS and it only said that FRAPS was responsible for crashes.
When you have lag in a game again, can you press <Ctrl>+P. PA will then display performance statistics. Every time you press <Ctrl>+P again, it will cycle through different statistics. When do you get for fps for client, sim, and server? Also, just try disabling (or uninstalling) FRAPS to see if that makes a difference. Can you also post a DxDiag.txt? You can make one by pressing <WinKey>+R, typing "dxdiag" and pressing "Save All Information...". Then upload the resulting file here using the "Upload a File" button on this forum.
"ROG Gamefirst III" is a piece of software that is preinstalled on some asus systems. So you would not need to put it anywhere? Start at the beginning: What is your problem? Lag in PA`?
