So, I have probably 6 active mods or so. I don't totally remember them, but it's basically the Queller AI, compatibility for AI, a map pack, and the wonderful unit category color-coding fire mod. I'm unsure when this issue started, as I was away from PA for a few days, but when I boot the game, it enters the "Updating Active Mods" phase, with an empty progress bar. This bar does not fill, even left alone for hours, and the game never runs. Is there a way to disable mods outside of the game itself? I haven't been able to find any config files, or indeed where the mods are stored. Have tried reinstalling and rebooting the PC, if that matters.
Please post your dxdiag and some logs: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/how-to-find-the-pa-logs-and-game-lobby-ids.69151/
Yeah, you can delete the "mods", "client_mods", and "server_mods" directories to clean out the old mods. You can find them here: Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\ (copy-past this in the address bar of File Explorer) OSX: ~/Library/Application Support/Uber Entertainment/Planetary Annihilation/ Linux: ~/.local/Uber Entertainment/Planetary Annihilation/
@DeathByDenim Sadly, those directories don't appear to exist. I did find various files in the 'downloads' folder, temporarily deleted them, failed to run the game as usual, and replaced them. Also, you made the Favorite Color mod! I love that thing, though I did forget to mention it. Embarrassing. @mikeyh In addition to my dxdiag, I'll post the last log from a functioning day and the first two non-functioning logs. I dunno how many are relevant. Apologies. Edit: Also, I tried running with the --nomods command line, but it still wanted to update, which I imagine you competent folks would have anticipated, but seemed important to note.
Something is blocking downloads from https://cdn.palobby.com/ Does this work in a browser? https://cdn.palobby.com/community-mods/js/jszip.custom.min.js
Ah, you're right. Connection time out. I tested with android on the same network and it failed too. Worked off the network. Some modem setting, perhaps? Can't find anything blocking content from any sites, but I'm not savvy.
What country are you in and can you please post a trace route to cdn.palobby.com (without your IP address): windows: tracert cdn.palobby.com macos / linux: traceroute cdn.palobby.com Remove the first couple of entries with your local IP addresses before posting.
