The concept is simple for taunting but I get a few questions regarding it's worth. Here's my input.
    ------

    Teh TAWNT!

    Pros:
    1. Get paid
    2. Feel Good.

    Cons

    1. Get dead
    2. Not supporting the team while taunting
    3. Sportsmanship?

Basically, I find taunting a great source of extra cash in the early game. It pays very well. I believe it can net you 50 extra gold when done immediately. This money is the difference between a lvl 1 puny lazar or a lvl 3 bigger lazer right at the start. Or you can buy you upgrades fairly quickly.

Taunt seems to favor some classes or situations over others. Here's some tips.

-If you wish to taunt after a kill, find some cover. You're only asking for it if you taunt in the open. You get less money if you are killed in a taunt. bgolus elaborates:

-Taunt is Right direction pad + A. You get different taunts based on the wpn equipped.

-Taunts are usually slightly longer than 4 seconds. During this time you care completely vulnerable. Taking dmg during a taunt nets you come juice.

-Snipers make great taunters. Assassins make better taunters (though there taunts are that funny). Assassins can taunt while cloaked. You're not immune from dmg but you have a smaller chance at being spotted.

-You killed victims will see you taunt. =)

-Supports probably shouldn't taunt unless they need the money.

-Tank taunts are funny but probably a terrible idea. Why make a defensive class a sitting duck? If you want to taunt with a tank or gunner, make sure you face a wall as so to deter headshots.

-The monetary payout for taunting is highest within moments of the kill. This makes snipers or assassins best for taunting as they tend to engage lone targets. Taunting for no reason pays about 10 bucks.

-Unfortunately I don't think you get jack for taunting bot kills... including the Jaggernaut (Jackbot) [unconfirmed].

-Taunting while defending your base is a great idea. You can be safe by turrets and upgrade them. I HIGHLY encourage non-supports to taunt when defending a base.

-Taunting may increase your Juice bar (unconfirmed). But as I've said, in end game, it's not really worth it. You're either overwhelmed or underwhelmed. In one case, money isn't going to help much, and in the other case, support coming for killing is much more important.

*I'm busying myself with some research on the world of Taunting. Please use this threa for any issues regarding the system. Any errors with my post, plz make a note of it here.

    Questions:

    1) How long's the window of time to do a taunt after a kill?

    2) Can a Support get taunt cash for firebase and hacked turret kills?

    1. 10 seconds
    2. Yes.

Taunting while juiced gives you a bigger bonus than taunting after a kill. You have to finish the taunt while juiced or in the 10 seconds after the kill to get the reward, not start it.

You get like 10 bucks for taunting for no reason. Don't do it.

You get 5 bucks for taunting for no reason - so if you're 1-15$ away from upgrading, its useful. Taunting while Juiced seems to net a round 100, and you can get three off if you just stand there taunting - so you can exchange a juice for 300$

I'd have to disagree about not taunting as a support. I do it all the time and it gives me so much money and in a really short time. If you know what youre doing and have a place near your turret you can just move out of the LOS, back against a wall, and then taunt. Lets you get that lvl 3 that much quicker.

Definitely worth it if you need funds. But you have to get player kills.

When I was playing earlier, the taunt brought my assassin out of cloak mid taunt. Or, do you mean you can cloak while taunting (similar to cloaking while grappling)?

As a person who taunts obsessively after kills in TF2 (which nets no benefit whatsoever):

    Uber entertainment gets taunting.
