    :(

It was a good idea though. Thanks for working so hard on it Coug. Sorry I was part of the problem.

Sorry for being part of the problem. I guess there is a time when you have to be strict about games getting played, we really shouldn't have pressured you to give us extensions, if a team can't make an agreed date, they're disqualified, if the teams don't make an agreed time to play, they're both disqualified and the seed becomes a bye.

I think part of the problem is that most people had a decent schedule, but the people not as many people knew about (generally the 5th and 6th picks), had conflicting schedules.

I got it just as bad. My Xbox was right next door, I had attended my team's first playdate and before said date I was on a frakking roll.

I don't feel like a douche, because the reason I was one door away was due to a (very) unwell relative, but it was a bit damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Props to Coug for this, but even if he's abandoned it, I reckon we can try again sometime, on a much smaller scale.

I would like the record to reflect that some form of team xXx mLgMnC xXx was in attendance for every scheduled match. Hell, we even scrambled for subs the day of a match when a team mates internet went down without notice.

Coug, I appreciate everything you did. Your tourney may have died a slow, painful death much like that of a fish who jumped out of his bowl, but I applaud the effort you put forth.

Gosh, this is just terrible news...

I think what threw it off was the timing. Getting it together went fine, but as soon as it started, BAM! Everyone scattered, haha. Like cockroaches under a fridge when a light comes on.

I guess too much was going on this month. It's too bad...Dang.

But Coug, I commend you for your EXCELLENT effort. You gave it the good ol' college try. It was just as if not more organized as FR's tourney! I just wonder how people were able to get together for that, and not for this.

Whatever prize Uber had set for the tournament, I think they should send it to you. You deserve at least that for your tremendous and outstanding work.

Coug, you did a great job with this tourney, and while with 20/20 hindsight there might have been a few things that should have been done differently, you did a far more awesome job than most of us would have. Flaky people are not your fault.

A few things I think we have learned:

    1. Just because people are great players does not mean that they will be great captains or just reliable in general. Yes, I know some of the captains tried really hard, but some just poofed on us. Probably in any future efforts, the captains should volunteer instead of being voted, and should be warned early and often that it will be work.

    2. Projects lose momentum with time. The faster something can be organized and executed, the more likely that it will be successful, especially when you're dealing with the average video gamer whose attention span is about 2.5 sec... what was I talking about?

    3. Game times should be set in advance. e.g., All games will be played between 5pm and 2 am on Saturday evenings. Yes, strict and harsh, and some people wouldn't be able to play due to schedules, but at least they would KNOW from the beginning what times they would have to work around.

4: Your first two picks should always be Z Bear and Baby Sharyn. We run businesses, so we understand the value of being reliable. :D The only danger is that our awesomeness will scare away the other teams.

    Coug, I salute you.

You did a great job. It's a sincere shame it didn't work out.

What can be changed in the future to make this work? Yes this sucks and is a bit annoying but the concept is good and we ended up with lots of teams of 6, even though not everyone stuck around.

I think too much time has passed from making captains to drafting and then onto the schedule. Of course, thats nobody in particulars fault but is still the biggest factor..

Not sure if captains should still be nominated.. I like the idea. They should be allowed to decline and someone more reliable should step up.. participants should list class, timezone, and available times. Teams may not be able to get the top picks but it allows relatively the same schedule.

any other ideas? this can happen

Instead of making it a Draft just use a random generator to make teams or something.

Mods who are team captains should be allowed to over rule DQ'd games ;)

Thanks, Coug, for putting this together and I hate to see it go away. I had been looking forward to this since you first put it out there.

From a personal standpoint, it sucks to not even be contacted as a sub when so many teams had trouble getting everyone on for the games.

But aside from that, I am still trying to find people to play with instead of always playing with random people. My interest in this incredibly awesome game has definitely waned these last few weeks because it gets tiresome to either not talk to anyone while playing or having to listen to someone screaming at his/her mom about something. <- Unfair criticism, I know, but it is annoying.
