Saw this. All I can say is "Huh..."

It's so they can pull a Jurassic Park and say it was "65 million years in the making". And yes that would be chronologically inaccurate but it's Ubisoft. They're going to stick damn radio towers in the game somewhere.

So Illfonic is apparently done with Star Citizen, and now they're going to make a Lovecraftian multiplayer RPG

    uhmm! hell yeah?

I guess you could see it as a way of getting around Noman's sky's temporary console exclusiveness if you can't wait (but I guess by the time it comes out no man's sky will be on PC as well.)

hard to tell if this little gold nugget isn't actually brooding something more interesting than no man's sky.

so far as I can tell no man's boasts more interesting graphics. while infinity has a truly seamless transition between space and planet (as I saw there was a smoother transition than no man's)

also semi persistent clan battles sounds like a superior gimmick to me than solo exploring. or is clan battles something you can do in no man's as well?

I feel I must apologize on behalf of the French for this man's atrocious accent. it's not as though he's unrepresentative of all French's english capacities. He most definitely is x'D .... but I always have a pinch of the heart when I am confronted with a public display of it. :D

As far as I know, NMS is singleplayer only, which is a little disappointing. Clan wars on the scale of an entire galaxy would've been something to behold.

Not to mention the role playing aspect of something like that would've been insane. I don't even get into role playing in multiplayer games, but I would've definitely made an exception for interstellar war :D

Undertale's soundtrack on Steam has the greatest system requirements.

Also, Undertale is freaking amazing and if you played and enjoyed the Mother series you need to play Undertale right now.

this game is made by fans and some of the original devs (who founded the studio Blackbird Interactive) under the name "Hardware - Shipbreakers" an intentional nod at homeworld through it's name because these guys didn't have the IP.

the original trailer for it came out over two years ago now

For any fan of Homeworld this was hype incarnate because it was recognisably the opening sequence of homeworld

    first 50 seconds.

then THQ sunk (isn't it crazy how almost all of the RTS world is tied into that one event???) and the auction for homeworld IP happened (as well as that of TA's as well we all know about that one at least) and Blackbird Interactive jumped on the case pushing even money from their own pocket far beyond what they could afford (you can tell how passionate these guys are) but lost to Gearbox
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeworld

this ended up being a happy event because Gearbox turned out friendly, decided to merge their two projects and even allowed them the use of the Homeworld IP name for free.

    some extra fun : https://www.facebook.com/groups/wewanthomeworld3/permalink/10153367136548910/?comment_id=10153368634363910&offset=0&total_comments=28&comment_tracking={"tn":"R4"}

and to answer the question : yes, Homeworld was (and is, HW Remastered's release was only a year ago and it's still working on it's multiplayer) a space-RTS.

Shipbreakers on the other hand is going for a Ground-RTS but with a MMO and semi-persistant twist.

You'll have all the clans from the original HW lore (this is before they find the wreak in the opening sequence up there that unites all of the clans into one) fighting over economic advantage and claims over all the wreaks.

there are plenty of other videos that describe this environment :

Aaand of course TB did a content patch :
