I have a very frustrating bug that's becoming increasingly annoying with every game I play (every match, rather, as the problem only persists in PA titans). During gameplay, my mouse cursor freezes in place. Clicking, scrolling, and moving it does not work. My keyboard still responds fine, I can move the planet with the arrow keys. Sometimes it happens after about 30 seconds, sometimes it takes a few minutes. It's especially annoying when it happens when precise timing is required. Even more so when it causes the planet to spin around at a million rpm's. It usually only sticks for about a second or two, but you can imagine how annoying that gets in an rts. Things I've tried: -Uninstalled msi afterburner -Close every program BUT PA Titans -Disabled steam overlay -Checked and updated graphics and mouse drivers (amd and logitech respectively) -Different usb port (even though I'm confident it's not a hardware problem) -Unplugged by usb game controller, figured it might be a conflict issue, no dice -Verified game cache -Checked to make sure no mods were installed -Different graphics settings = no change -Restart pc -Run in admin -Increase page file size(idk I read something about it on the forums lol) My computer: Windows 8 64bit Radeon R9 280x (3gb) AMD FX8350 8gb ddr3 ram logitech g502 proteus core mouse, though it works fine in everything but pa titans I only had one match in which the bug didn't persist (it's been here since I first opened the game and looked at the tutorial); but I don't think I did anything different. I can't really upload a crashlog because, well, the game doesn't crash. edit: It's worth noting that my cpu, disk, or ram usage never peak above 70%, so I wouldn't imagine that it's runing out of resources.
I've only seen this once, I think. I can't find the post at the moment, but the trouble then was that the mouse was plugged into the extra USB ports of a fancy keyboard. You probably would have noticed in other games though. So could you try doing a clean boot in Windows and see if it still happens? Instructions are here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135/
Preliminary results show that the clean boot did get rid of the bug. I'll have to find out a way to isolate what was causing the conflict so others who encounter the bug don't tear all their hair out over it edit: After renabling bitdefender, amd and logitech's startup services and rebooting (most other stuff is still disabled) the problem still hasn't came back. So that's good to know it's not anything major. -- Here's an imgur gallery of potential problem services and startup programs if anybody wants them. I'll probably try to narrow it down to the specific program if I get more free time. and by free time I mean time spent not playing PA lol
