I had some tought you guys, and well the commander in late game is really really very weak... Would it not be a nice idea to have the ability for the commander to be loaded into the tank titan ares? This would give him a good health boost without havving to do silly things like upgrade the commander and stuff...
This idea has been proposed in other thread, and I also think it is a good idea. I think the easier way to implement it is to let Ares, Atlas, and Zeus have the ability to transport units as Astraeus. Modifying the commander is much more complex. Let Ares, Atlas, and Zeus load a single unit, and it is enough. Placing the commander inside the titan can solve many problems, such as orbital and nuke sniping. Even the Helios dropping can not bring it down immediately. However, it comes with the cost that the titan can't use teleporter and jump to other planet. Commander must exit the titan to use the teleporter. Another question is what happens to the commander when the titan is killed. Option 1: The commander dies inside the titan. Option 2: The commander jumps out the titan.
how about a commander in form of an Titan? if it is just to be alive for the commander can install one unit that heals him and dies after a time.
I think it is still different. It depends on how many remaining force does enemy have after killing the titan. If enemy still has too many units after the strike, it is indeed no difference. By the way, the commander may enter another nearby titan in no time after jumping out.
Maybe it will be better as a one-time ability. So you can load comm into the titan, but you can't unload it.
I kinda like the risk reward of having a special com Super Titan Upgrade, that also kinda links them to one planet meaning that if smash is incoming, they kinda can't run, but an actual ground invasion vs the com could be rather difficult.
