    sure, I just haven't seen any reason to change it. If you see an issue/have feedback for it, this is the right place.

    could i make a suggestion
    in "lighting" "sun" have a play about with "hdr_intensity" and "ldr_intensity" instead of changing "diffuse",
    it was originally
    "hdr_intensity": 10.0,
    "ldr_intensity": 4.0
    iv dropped all planets down to
    "hdr_intensity": 3.0,
    "ldr_intensity": 2.5
    and gas giants down to
    "hdr_intensity": 4.5,
    "ldr_intensity": 4.0
    and the result looks a bit more colorful.

    bear in mind that ingame has fog of war so everything is darker.
    i also dropped "ambient"
    "hdr_intensity": 1.0,
    "ldr_intensity": 1.0,
    to
    "hdr_intensity": 0.6,
    "ldr_intensity": 0.6,
    for a slightly darker night side.

    I'll take a look into that when I have a spare minute. The last time I tried that those values had no effect, good to know that's changed

    not surprising, all it does is shadow the planet json files. Simple mods are the best.

    Oh sweet mercy I can play on ice planets again.

    I love you.

    I was kinda hoping Uber would fix this issue with AMD cards so we can do away with this rather hackish solution. Doesn't look like its going to be fixed any time soon so I'll probably be doing another pass on the mod to make it a bit nicer next week after finals are done.

    I summon @jables to perhaps work more communication magic on this.

    I have just updated to a hdr/ldr intensity version of the mod, feedback welcome as usual.

    THIS is so helpful!

    Wonder why this issue exists? Is it something to do with AMD drivers or is it fixable by Uber?

    Units are sadly still a little glowly... but this is at least a major improvement

    afaik they have trouble clearly reproducing it.

    They are aware of the issue, but last I heard had no solution :( (@bgolus, any updates?)

    I've never noticed glowy units before, but I'm legally blind and really not the best judge of appearance. I'll poke through the files tomorrow and see if there are any settings I can monkey with.

    How I wind up doing so many visual mods is beyond me...

    Well here is an example of units glowing.

    This is without your mod however, so it doesn't look quite as drastic.

    Can you get me a clear example of it with the mod on? Like I said before, it needs to be pretty obvious for me to be able to see it, I can't test anything until I can reproduce the issue.

    This mod is now officially retired, as Uber has fixed the issue on AMD cards.

    If anyone still has some lighting issues though, feel free to bring it up.

    Ice planets still seem a bit bright for me, other than that I haven't been having any issues. (without the mod). It might just be one part of this specific map though, I'll have to see.
