The way you guys talk about this game makes it seem sooo complicated.... I get confused every time I come in here.
Me either, i took on StriderHoang a couple nights back, he defonetly knew his ****. I had to ask him to not spam me lol. However after a few fights me and him started having some good matches and dude helped me learn quite a bit Ive been doing way better against the people i play ever since. Always seem to be learning in this game
Deadpool no hablo the MVC-ese. Is the game fun? Are there the god characters that everyone uses on xbox live? Any hipster characters that would be able to be used to embarass said God-tier users?
God character = Sentinel. But I always laugh at the bad Sentinel players who just pick him and think he's a free ride to win. You still gotta learn the game and play well son. Hipster character = I say Spencer, but playing him is so much fun, I don't wanna call him that. I don't see a whole lot of Arthurs, but he's an annoying keepaway, so he'll probably get enough fans to disqualify him from being hipster. Btw, sorry I missed that invite Ninja Wallace. I think I was easing off of a game binge and getting ready to sign off. I intend on coming back to this thread cause I don't wanna register an account at SRK.
Sentinel is good, but a lot of it is that he's just easy to play and all his tricks are pretty superficial. There's already some solid anti-sent technology out there, and there's still a ton of stuff to be discovered. That being said, if you want to annoy people other than the majority of xbox live, Deadpool is a perfect choice. He's very annoying. I like Deadpool sometimes, but man, whoever was writing his lines did not understand what makes him funny. The entirety of everything he does is just 'lolsorandum XD!!!" and I hate it. If you want to annoy the legions of Ryu/Deadpool/Dante teams and the like that roam XBL, just roll a keepaway team. They have no idea how to handle that poop. Arthur/Ammy/Doom is just one example of such a team.
Some of the fourth wall stuff is pretty good. The last fighting game I played properly was Soul Calibur II, so I'd be wary of laying down 50 quid on a game I mightn't like.
For the most part I see people playing a lot of rushdown. If I'm in a lobby and they are complaining about me being too spammy, ill comply and go hulk / sent / phoenix as if they will enjoy that more. I wasn't great at mvc2, but since everything is much more streamlined in this installment, I'm finding I'm doing leaps and bounds better and even offline, this game is hilariously fun. If you're on the fence, get it and put some blisters on your thumbs.
Deadpool is actually right on the dot good. Deadpool is a character that knows who he is, so thats why he will break the fourth wall and talk to the audience all the time, and explains why he grabs his hyper combo bar for Hyper 3. I think they did a perfecto job on the ol boy
If anything's confusing, ask away. I know I'd be willing to help anyone with inquiries, and I'm pretty sure anyone else with the power to help out would, too. Moving right along with the offline stuff. Have about 75% of Mission Mode done, but I've only actually finished with Hulk, Haggar, Zero, and Dante. Arcade runs are mostly finished, just have the last two rows to complete for their endings.
Maybe im just not that good at the game, i have a real hard time on the missions with certain moves. they can all %$#@ off. As for the arcade i already completed all the characters, unlocked the Galactus model, and also have all story endings For all story endings you will need to lose to Galactus 1 time and not continue.
I've never been into fighting games, but this one caught my eye. Just got it today, I'll be online late tonight if anyone wants to play a total noob.
So, now that it's out what do you guys think? I think it's one of the best fighters i've seen in a while. I usual use Arthur, Spencer and Viewtiful Joe, but i've taken a liking towards Deadpool, Dante, Capt America, Thor, Amaterasu and Zero
Deadpool was never about breaking the fourth wall. He references captions a couple times because he's insane and for some reason it just spread about like herpes at a porn convention. He's really a lot closer to a crazy Spider-Man than, I don't know, some nonsensical version of Scott McCloud. Besides, his voice is grating (it's suppose to be gravelly), the fact that it's Nolan North doing it is like some sort of strange meta-joke, and if anyone can tell me what's funny about a line like: "I'm the ghost of Christmas KICK YOUR ***!" I will probably just ignore their explanation and headbutt them.
X-23, Arthur and Taskmaster is a potent team. It's pretty mean, too. Start with 23's Rage Trigger ("Fight's Over!"), combo into Arthur's Goddess' Bracelet, and top that off by going into Taskmaster's Legion Arrow and BLAM. First opponent is already in the red, if they survive at all. ...What the what? Syd knows about fighters? Where did THAT play come from?
