Pretty much what the title says. Problem is Titans-only, vanilla plays on local server just fine. Would be great to fix the issue as it's rather painful sometimes to play skirmish/galactic war on uber server due to crappy internet connection. Win7 x64, 16GB RAM (never got used above 10-11 GB total or so through the game). Can provide any logs needed.
Yeah, please post some server logs. They'll contain crash reports that could be useful for tracking down problems. It sounds like you already know where to find them, but just in case: Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\ OSX: ~/Library/Application Support/Uber Entertainment/Planetary Annihilation/ Linux: ~/.local/Uber Entertainment/Planetary Annihilation/
Having the same issue. Tried to load a saved game from galatic war... server.exe CTD with APPCRASH. I'm on Windows 7 x64 i2500K @ 4.0GHz / 8GB RAM / GTX 970 / Samsung Evo 840 500GB. Here's my log: nm I can't post because I don't have any posts lol
Thanks! It seems to complain about missing files. If you use the UberLauncher, can you try hitting [VERIFY] a few times. If you are using Steam, can you verify the integrity of the game cache? Instructions are here for Steam: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335 (btw, the restriction on posting links disappears after your fifth post. )
All files successfully verified... using Steam here. Just purchased a few days ago Also my issue may be slightly different than the OP... I try to load a saved game and never enter the game... I just get the appcrash from Win7: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: server.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 55d2e3fb Fault Module Name: server.exe Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 55d2e3fb Exception Code: 80000003 Exception Offset: 0000000000383c20 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: f027 Additional Information 2: f027f8ac5ea729a584062e25600a7440 Additional Information 3: d833 Additional Information 4: d833192b286586b23352481d25367fbc
Also I wonder if it's related to the other threads about server errors... again I would post a link to that thread but lol!
Yeah, the crash log you posted contained a crash report with the exact point of crashing, which is reading the files saying which units you and the AI get. If you can, can you try posting the save file itself? It's in the same directory as the server log files. It's the two files that start with GWSaveXXXXXX.par (with XXXXX being a number). They are likely too large to post on this forum (even zipped), so you'll need to use Dropbox or some other file sharing service. And oh, heh. You can't even link to the forum itself. That's mean. Well, only one more post.
Here's the two GW files: https://www.dropbox.com/s/byyabdbx17j2qwo/GWSave718315.par.gz?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/82gse525zlerrke/GWSave718315.par.info.json?dl=0
Huh, funky. When I load those, it starts with the planets exploding because they are located in the same spot in space and thus smash. No server crash while loading though. I'm guessing GW saves aren't meant to be shared. Anyway, does the crashing of the server happen always with each GW save?
I don't know... I haven't tried to play a new GW... this is the tutorial I was trying to resume. I'll try a new GW I guess.
Just to close the loop here. Apparently it won't let you load a saved game if it's the tutorial. At least not on my rig. But I started a new GW (not the tutorial) and saves are working fine. Good to know I guess.
Ah, so it does. Well, for me it doesn't crash, but it enters an infinite loop somewhere by the looks of it. Yup, that seems like a bug.
OK, I wanted to study the issue and play tutorial/GW with local server enabled to provide logs, but it seems that the problem has resolved itself somehow - I was able to finish all the games I started, zero crashes to server.exe. Consider the topic closed I guess
