Ever since my graphic card died and I got a replacement, planetary annihilation has crashed far more frequently, to the point of not being able to finish any match. I'm also having trouble with some fullscreen games now, which do fine when in borderless. Whats the problem?

If you replace your graphics card, it would be a good idea to completely get rid of the old drivers for the previous card as they can cause all sorts of trouble. So uninstall anything from NVidia or AMD related to graphics, reboot and then install the NVidia drivers again.

i'm still having trouble with placing metal extractors through, it seems to sometimes freeze my game, especially when doing the entire planet command. Is there any way to fix that?

There are reports that there is some funkiness going on with the area commands for some people. See https://forums.uberent.com/threads/area-command-hard-crash-for-entire-game.69555/

So that sounds like a bug. There is going to be an update to PA soon, so hopefully there will be a fix for this in there.
