Just upgraded to Windows 10. I use Steam and the PTE build. Upon startup there is quite a loud audio glitch. This appears new. I have a USB sound device (the ODAC) which contains the DAC and the AMP.

I have tried starting other games such as GTA and Project CARS. No issues there. Anyone else noticing this?

I also just upgraded to 10 and I hear a kind of a click when I start the game, is that what you are talking about?

Edit: It's more of a click / screech.

I had this issue on the Surface 3 of my grandmother, just in Windows. A fix of the Microsoft employee I received for this was going to device management and deleting the audio devices (but keep the toggle asking to delete drivers too untoggled). By shutting down and starting up this was fixed.

I dont think this is likely to fix it for PA, seeing you only have it in PA, but I guess it is worth a shot? :)

    Hey guys,

I found this thread while Googling for a solution to my problem. I don't play this particular game, but since upgrading to Windows 10, I also get a weird blast of static/white noise when starting up certain games via Steam. Once the game has loaded up, everything is fine, although very occasionally I'll get another small burst of static/white noise when exiting the game and going back to the desktop.

Here's an example of me launching Tomb Raider: -

Unforuntately, the audio is rubbish as I recorded that with my smartphone, but you can hear the noise around 6-7 seconds in. I assume that's what you guys are talking about.

I posted about this on Reddit and found a handful of people (maybe half a dozen) with the same issue. I'm using a pretty high end RME sound card, but some people are having this issue with regular on-board sound. I've reported this to Microsoft via the Windows Feedback app and I'd urge you guys to do the same, so hopefully it can be fixed.

I did, although unfortunately it didn't fix it for me. Thanks anyway though!

Yup, same problem here. Windows 10 pro x64. Happens with both my G930 headset and regular speakers connected to my onboard audio.
