I can play the normal AI Skirmish in single player, however when I try to play the Galactic War mode all I get is a black screen. With sound, a bar running across the bottom and the two social buttons at the bottom right, which are active and responsive. Any ideas whats going on?
Never installed mods, installed from steam, no regular PA just PA TITANS. I can do everything aside from Galactic War and the Tutorial, tutorial offers a parsley error code after the first mission of using the seismic titan to destroy the enemy commander. Checked for all problem software, found none, checked here and on steam and am unable to find a fix. It seems like the blackscreen that came from Bandicam in the first PA. However I don't have x split running and I completely deleted all Aver Media folders to delete any possible OSD software. Any ideas?
Odd that GW doesn't work, but the tutorial does. They use the same system. In any case, if you are on Windows, could you post a DxDiag.txt? You can make one by pressing <WinKey>+R, typing "dxdiag", and pressing "Save All Information...". You can upload the resulting file here using the "Upload a File" button on this forum. If you use Mac OS of Linux, what version and which graphics card?
Ah, I see you are using SLI. Could you try disabling that and see if that works? Also, holy crap, can I have your PC?
SLI doesn't appear under my Nvidia Control Panel because I only have the one Titan installed. I can't choose to disable or enable it. Also I don't have the SLI Bridge port nor software activated. Haha its my first build, I figured I'd try to get it good enough not to have to replace anything for at least a year and half. Hopefully... Haha.
Ah, it appears twice in your DxDiag.txt, so I assumed you had two of them. Kind of weird, since one of them is set to display at only 30Hz, which I don't quite understand. But who knows what that means. Anyway, could you see if you have any software installed from the following list? http://steamcommunity.com/app/233250/discussions/2/558751813508748383/ Also, I'm not sure if it's on the list, but do you have Xsplit Broadcaster installed? If so, can you try uninstalling it and see if that makes a difference?
My asus runs at 60 mhz but the 4k dell runs at 30 mhz for some reason, not entirely sure honestly. No software on the list and removed all Xsplit Broadcaster and Gamecaster files. No change, galactic war still won't run. Black screen with social buttons on the bottom right.
Well. That's rather annoying... I'm not sure what's so special about GW that only that breaks. Could you upload a game log? Maybe that contains some information. You can find them in "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log". Just copy-paste that in the address bar of Explorer. It will likely contain a whole bunch of them. The easiest way to get the right one is to just delete them all, start PA, try GW, get the black screen and close PA. There should be a single fresh log in the log directory then.
Thanks! Well, that all looks ok as well. However, another user that seems to have the same problem is reporting that resizing the window below a certain size will make everything appear. Could you try playing in windowed mode and resize the window to see if you make GW appear as well?
Yes sir I do; however upon winning the first match in Galactic War I crash with a parsley error code.
Swapped over from my Dell 4k too my ASUS 1920x1080 in windowed and scaled down 5%. Like that everything runs normally, graphics are a little off but other than that it works.
Well, I know that technically PA doesn't support 4K officially yet, but the Parsley error was something they were looking at. So hopefully they'll find the cause of that soon. The black screen is still odd, but that sounds like something Uber should be able to reproduce if they have a 4K screen in the office.
Hello there, I'm that other user and I too got a Parsley error at the end of the match. I also get CTDs after every other match (both GW and MP).
