Hi everyone, I just obliterated my opponent's advancing Atlas with a bunch of bombers, and it was so anticlimactic that I had to post here. I know it's early, but for the images and videos of the Atlas being this gigantic, hulking, smashing machine, it's pathetically weak. It feels even weaker than the ol' Monkeylord... flashy and epic but ultimately not that intimidating. Thoughts? I'd like to see a 50-100% HP boost.
An atlas with even minimal AA escort becomes far, far more durable simply because the vast majority of ground units evaporate before they can get a shot off. A few of the t2 mobile flak, some hummingbirds, and an archangel or two are devastating. Toss in a pack of Gil e to deal with groups of artillery and there is very little that can cost effectively stop an atlas. Oddly similar to the monkeylord, heh. Keep the air off of it and it watch the fireworks.
Haha I've been saying for so long that the nukes are weak. How does the Atlas attack range compare to the gile or bluehawk?
I am still not sure should Uber buff Altas' HP or not. But I feel the hp values of Altas and Ares should be swapped. Altas need to rush into the enemy, but it gets only 40K HP. On the other hand, Ares can fire from a far like a long range arty, but it gets 80K HP! Why an assault unit gets less HP than the arty unit gets? It is no sence.
I'd argue that the Ares is perhaps too strong. The Atlas and Zeus and Helios feel reasonably well balanced with their current durability. My solution would be to nerf the Ares. The solution to stopping your Atlas from dying is to support it with fighters or other AA. I don't like the idea of one unit being near unstoppable, no matter how must it costs.
