Their planes seemed to be easy to shoot down.

Albeit I only had one, with limited metal income.

Oy folks, can we go like 24 hours before we start chanting about what is OP? With 21 new units I think we need maybe a day or two at least to find all the possible counters...

it .... makes air dude..... what the hell kinda killer counter are you gonna come up with other than something that shoots at air???

I was using a combo of an extensive amount of t2 static anti air t1 anti air, bots, fighters and all that got slaughtered.

and then it proceeded to take out all the land.

You did it wrong. Nuke it.

T2 Naval is quite powerful, especially the T2 hover boats :D
That said, the best way to kill drone carriers is with mass air. Send in tons of fighters and you shouldn't have any trouble. I had three of 'em pummeling a base and it wasn't super effective because he had tons of air on standby

I would think that T2 or even regular subs - which are immune to air - would be solid choices for a counter. T2 AA, which can be sent from planet to planet, would also be a great way to deal with it.

But then, I haven't had a chance to get my hands on everything yet... still giddy!

T2 AA tanks shouldn't fare all to bad against the Carriers. I mean, they ARE designed as air swarm killers and with the drones killed away fast enough, the Carrier is even more of a resource sink than it already is.

Now of course if you insist on taking on the drones head on on their native layer using single target defense systems ... bad luck.

Only issue I see, is that the drones are not locked to assist the Carrier but are individually controllable which makes them even more dangerous.

A submarine kills an unlimited number of carriers.

    #truebalancefacts

Is it really? That thing has only 300 hp and i imagine it'll suck quite hard if you can trade a drone swarm against some 750 metal units.
