Specs: Windows 8.1 MSI Nvidia GTX 970 I-7 4790k @ 4.4ghz 16GB ram @ 2400 Samsung 512gb SSD 50mbp/s internet bandwidth ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I played with my friend, while he hosted and it played smooth on Uber settings. I tried playing a single player game even against 1 computer on a 1 planet map, with lowest graphics and the game seems to move super slow. It skips frames. Ctrl + P shows 60 fps client Server 1 Fps sim 10 fps Not really sure why? Graphics drivers are up to date, and like I said it worked flawlessly when he was hosting our 2v2(computer) game. Plus my system specs are smokin' I use non-steam launcher I believe, it's not linked with my steam anyways.
Hmm sounds to me like it is network related. If you are rendering at 60fps, then the bottleneck must be the network layer. Since even when run locally there is still a server and client, it could be some software that interferes with that connection. Do you have something called GameFirst III or something like that? Can't remember the name at the moment.
Ok I think this explains what's causing your problem, sounds like when server runs on your machine something isn't working properly. When you play multi player server is usually hosted by uber. There are various things that could be intercepting the data between the server and client on your machine, try disabling firewalls and anti virus temporarily and test again. As a quick fix you can also go into settings, local server and change it to 'off'. This will force the game to run on uber's server even for single player.
Do you have any software that's listed in this post? http://steamcommunity.com/app/233250/discussions/2/558751813508748383/

I did some research and found the solution to my particular laptop. https://forums.uberent.com/threads/asus-g751-network-lag-online-offline-fixed.66577/
The google foo is strong in this one.... Glad you got it sorted, if only all support questions were this easy
