How dare those Civil War games remain historically accurate! The nerve!

Despite the fact that I wasn't talking about that, and the fact that that doesn't excuse racist sentiments, here are a couple more facts.

The Confederate flag was not the Civil War battle flag people seem to be claiming it is.

Apple are within rights to do whatever they want, and they're currently working with legitimate devs to bring their games back.

What flag are you talking about then? And yes, Apple can do whatever the hell they like, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with it.

This was the Confederate war flag, as the stars and bars was deemed to close to the northern flag when in battle. It was more of a square shape.


Afterwards this was created. But the problem with it was that it seemed to much like a resignation flag. (Since white was the colour of the flag of surrender)


Because of that, this flag was created- ironically the Confederacy would surrender only less than 70 days later iirc.


and bonus points, this was the Confederate Navy Jack, war flag. Yes the flag people are trying to get banned is the naval war flag


So yes, the flag we see mostly around was the war flag, created to stop the difficulty telling who's who.

And for the record I think it's silly to wear now, and that many people in the south who do tote it around are trying to show they're not apart of the dumb North US, they're alone and strong. Though many dont. Freedom of speech and expression, and while I don't like it.. I can't really do anything about it, nor does it actually *bother* me.

Banning symbols is silly. If people want to be openly racist they'll do it under a new flag, only this time with a bit more passion because 'the man' is trying to stop them.

No. Everything is not fine. What if I want to make a Civil War game? What if I'm a Civil War and/or history buff? What I really like vexillology and flag collecting? None of those have anything to do with hating ethnicities. And none of those are activities that should be prohibited at all.

But then it's not historically accurate! Why should you limit your creative vision just because people who don't even normally engage in it and have EVERY chance of avoiding it might be offended? It's basically censoring history!

In the US we have freedom of speech and expression. To ban this means we can ban anything.

Southern blame should be southern shame because not only would that be a better rhyme. It would actually make sense.
