So I tried Assasin this weekend...

I thought that its best that I experience all the classes so I read up on that there "Shadow Sutra" and geared up for my first battle.

I started off doing what I saw other assassins do: cloak, ambush bots, cloak, ambush turrets.

Eventually I gained a rhythm and I began to feel like I was affecting my teams chance of winning. I began to prioritize and use the time that I spent dead to keep an eye on enemy turrets. When their turrets were down I would search for players causing trouble and assist in lane pushing.

Now that I have a hang of it I can safely say that if at the beginning of a match my team is made up of slow classes i can switch to assassin and play effectively.

The only problems I encounter are:
1.) Bot kills are not listed at the end of a match
2.) for some reason my smokebomb animation will go off twice making it had to judge when I can jump
3.) *screams at the sky* SHAVEICE TURRETS!!!

If your efforts brought victory to your team, do you really need this minimum extra gratification? Also: money!

Despite this, the general populus finds ShaveIce turrets even more useless than LazerBlazers.

Which is a sad thing, honestly!
I am always glad to sometimes see someone at least put one up on a frontal nub. And since I main Support I ensure they get the care they deserve!

I mean, people, go support, build a Shaved Ice turret in Blitz and get a feeling for the range that it has on 3.3. It's overwhelming!

You have a pretty good tool there for the mere price of 700$ and a friendly and dedicated support that actually does know it's vital to overheal turrets. You wouldn't believe how much an overhealed ShaveIce can withstand.

HOWEVER: I've never seen it working though walls... yknow, like at the small corridor on the left side of your base on LazeRazor...

It would probably be good to test whether it works through walls or not, because it occurs to me that I've never been slowed by a shave-ice I couldn't see (not that I've seen many on the opposite team, let's be honest here).

Shaveices are awesome. They have to be leveled to at least level 2 to have any sort of significant impact in your defense, just like any other turret in this game (any level 1 turret is balls and an easy kill target).

They also work through walls and up on cliffs. They're really epic turrets. Totally underestimated.

LBs are true crap and only useful if you're essentially a 1 man team and honestly can continue to afford to put up beefier turrets if your team isn't helping at all (which has been the case on occasion for me).

Yeah, that smokebomb glitch is really starting to piss me off and even kill me. :|

I may be wrong, but isn't the smoke jump glitch caused by pressing the skill button more than once during the animation when having high ping?

As far as i remember it has only happened twice to me, and both times i pressed the button 2 times during the start up animation when it happened.

accept when juice the sin has lunge to navigate shaved ice with no problem at all..

my biggest complaint about this game is that one assassin who knows what they are doing can win the game for their team.. this entire game seems to boil down to whos assassin is faster..

kil bots, get juice kill turrets.. all while cloaked/dash/smokeboming they are nearly impossible to stop.. you can escort your bots.. but unless you are a tank.. most times they will just lunge in kill the pack and lunge out.. or just wait for someone else on their team to start a fight..

their ability to gain juice is way too fast.. no one will admit it.. but it is.. and it basically makes the assassin "THE" class that determines victory over any other.. other have a say in it.. but not like the assassin..

I'd post vids or scoreboard pics or what ever but it wont matter.. their gonna say "you're playing bad games' we swear were totally balanced its no big deal.. just learn to play... so theirs no point really.

just make sure you have a good assassin or that you play one if you feel like winning the game.. or at the least make sure the enemy doesn't have a good one..

I do not remember the last time an assassin lived after I saw her through shaveice.

First off, you can see her. If you see an empty white cloud floating around, that isn't God, my friend. That is an assassin.

Second off, she can lunge once every 5 seconds. Most classes can charge almost as fast as that, most for a longer distance. Especially when a shaveice lowers lunge distance.

Third off, she can smokebomb if she hits one. Well, if it keeps her out from risk of death, I say it works!

1) I dont think its 5 seconds I think its 3.. could be wrong.. but it doesnt feel like 5

2) I was talking about when she is JUICED.. she lunges too shaved ice kill it, doesnt have to deal with the slowdown trying to close the gap.. or can just lung between rocket turrets and ignore it.. than smoke bomb away when done.

You know, complaints like this would be a lot harder to write off as idiocy if any of you guys bothered to spell like you give a damn. An ellipsis is not an adequate substitute for punctuation. It would at least make it a little more likely that someone will read your post. Whether someone agrees with you or not, typing like you did is going to label you as an idiot in their eyes.

I don't think the assassin is overpowered, and frankly speaking people seem to forget just how easy it is to kill one. Her juice gain from bots has already been nerfed, and frankly I see no reason for it to be done again.

Plus, shave-ice turrets have the most health of any turret, so it takes them longer to get to, and longer to kill. You could easily get to her and grapple if you saw her coming. I've killed more than one juiced assassin as support with a grapple/shotgun combo, and I've rung a juiced assault out as gunner once. You are more easily replaceable than your defences. Always remember that, and stop juiced players.

A high level shaveice hacked.... Isn't going to let an assassin lunge completely between turrets. She will have to lunge and take a 3 second powerwalk afterwards still. A 6 second powerwalk if its spunky.

More on-topic and on a serious note: Yea, those are three things about assassin. I also seem to be getting the smoke bomb glitch alot. I'll try G3722's advice and press it once, to see what happens.
