Lol it'spretty much the only system that people use for multiplanet games 3 Pax prime lobbies at the same time.... I think there needs to be another orbital system. Or a map competition.
Yes Def over used..it's Def not fun but then i feelall games with to many planets are lame. There are hardly any battles it's just build Eco take metal planet build laser gg. What happend to having real wars like in supcom & ta...I've had the most fun on single systems or very few planets systems
I agree that the default system list needs to be expanded beyond its current 1v1 focused competitive selection and pax prime. Prime is pretty much the only non 1v1 focused map in the Uber map list.
Many reasons for that: 1) it's one of the better uber maps for team games 2) lot's of people don't have the system sharing mod (also the system sharing mod is really difficult to find anything in, some way to provide metadata for intended game types and filter systems by it would be great) 3) almost all custom maps are designed for 2 teams (at least all the easy to find ones in the map packs)
Well, PaxPrime can be played with many different layouts: It´s great for 3v3v3, 2v2v2, 2v2v2v2v2,4v4, 2v3v2v3, ... ...and it´s one of the maps where gas and metal planet domination are crucial; in general gameplay on PaxPrime is highly strategic!
That's an issue with how units are transported across systems, probably with orbital fabbers and teleporters, and lack of multi-unit transports. I refuse to turtle on small planets anymore because it's boring. I usually build hundreds of unit cannons and launch pure boom bots to another planet and see if the enemy can defend; that's so much more fun for everyone. But it requires effort, unlike spamming umbrellas and denying all oppurtunities for your enemies to make land-fall on your planet.
Like Seton's was.... https://forums.uberent.com/threads/setons-return-a-map-adaptation.68277/ ....it returns....
If there's one thing Uber should learn from SupCom2 it's that if there's a popular map they should look to make similar versions of it in the different biomes. It's similar to what they do in racing games where they take a good track and create it with different weather, it plays just as good but feels different and stops you getting bored visually when you play on your favourite maps.
Except we have way more tools than that. Like a random symmetrical system generator. It might not have targeted gameplay, but it's fit for competitive play
