This problem has been persistent on my machine since beta. In the lobby I see a game and press join game. Often a little clicking sound is made and nothing happens. I have no mods installed.
I have found that the very first game I try to join when I first start PA will work. If I leave and try to join another it will not work until I restart PA. This is hardly ideal so I'm still asking for a fix as I'm clearly doing something wrong.

Install PA Stats and go to settings > PA Stats Tab. Check the ajax ubernet option. Does that help? If so you are the first case I know of that has issues issues out of the box with the curl implementation.
I'll definitely try this tomorrow. As I said it's been happening ever since I got the game in beta and just figured it was a bug Uber didn't have time to fix.
Seems like I've ran into a different problem. With the PA stats mod installed I don't have the PA stats tab in settings at all.
installed and enabled? Um... do you have any other mods? How old is your PA install? Do you maybe still have some old weird things in "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\mods" ?
