During seemingly random parts of the game, the servers will basically die and freeze for a good minute+ then come back. The time varies heavily. I've had it happen on every server location and in 1v1 matches. When it melts, the sim will go down to around 0.4 FPS for maybe 10 seconds, again the time varies.
I can confirm this happening as of recent. Last night I was playing on a single planet and the sum total unit count of all the players were usually 5,000 and below. Most of the game was molasses. A bit off topic but how do you see the sim speed again, I forgot what you press.
This also seems to apply to custom servers and not just Uber servers. We played a 15 FFA today with much lower unit counts than last weekend and sim performance was not good hovering around 4FPS with less than 4,000 units. Last weekend on the previous stable build we were pushing 8,000 units on the same config at 4FPS.
I'm getting pauses in the game when I set units or factories to patrol (against AI) in the new build. I'm only playing galactic war at the moment, so can't say if it happens in an online game.
It's <Ctrl> + P. Unless you changed it in the settings of course, then find "Show/Hide Performance Panel" in the general keyboard settings.
Fixed in next build. For the current build make sure there are no planet wide area patrols of ground units. eg skitters
