Looks like an understatement, IMHO. The simulation didn't show the effect of the gamma pulse which such a collision causes.

That means, that if two astronomic bodies of such size collide, the entire SOLAR system is being scorched by the energy being radiated. Not a single electronic circuit, leave alone any organic material, can survive that without severe damage.

But the ring of fire going around the planet sure looks nice, when the entire surface of the planet vaporates as the planet is super heated from the force of the impact.

This collision caters better to PA's engine because if you have lag or a slower machine or whatever you can see the bodies clipping into one another - this makes that look badass :p

I'm not one to ask for cosmetic improvements because I'm a big believer in gameplay before graphics...

... but this would be hella cool :D

I like the white flash with accompanying screen darkening a lot. Nothing wrong about that part.

The secondary effects need work though, they should be a lot more fiery.

The issue I have with the white flash is that it basically conceals all other effects, is a little 'too' saturated at times, and most importantly leaves a polo ring behind in the orbit making it look like the Mysterons are up to no good :p

In the Kickstarter the planet hit became a Lava planet. We've spoken before about craters filling with Lava.

Both these things would be cool.

Only if they have a roughly equal size and mass ;)

This would indeed be awesome in-game, and filling the crater with lava would get rid of the weird pathing issues (although I think someone said there was some coding reason why it's not that easy for Uber to do?) However I'm just going to put my pedantry hat on for a second: no way would a shockwave and firestorm big enough to cover the whole earth leave big ben standing. It's silly and inaccurate.

The slow creeping wave of fire would be amazing. Reminds me of HW- "kharak is burning".

Yeah, even on my high end PC the white flash just is a white cloud that obscures everything else for most of the collision.

That would be epic, especially if the game went into slow mo and played that song for 30 secs or so ;)

I've often thought PA would be improved with the odd bit of pink floyd scattered in the soundtrack.

I think a 2:08 explains my mind if we could see that in-game.

    Awesome...

Forget tweaking the effects, THIS is what we really need to see fixed. So anticlimatic when this happens. Or just absurd, when it's a radius 100 moon crashing into a radius 1000 planet and both just poof away.

Anything is better than the current disappearing planets I get. So anticlimactic.

Even something like this would be cool

Especially if you could get pieces to fly off and hit the other side.
