I like me some sieges and defences!
    I also like Lego. o-o
I think it'd be awesome if we could build T2 walls which connected/stacked up on top of each other. And ramped platforms in order to raise bases, increasing defences' range and controlling assaulting unit flow.

E.g. Building Lasers/Artillery/Radar on raised platforms, or on top of walls. Also positioning units atop walls and platforms - imagine your Mobile Artillery atop a tower desperately shelling a tide of Doxen (I am of the opinion Mobile Artillery's AOE/damage is too high at the moment).

We could create Fortresses (given enough time).
I'd like to see bigger defences than the little walls we have now - though I recognise there is some balancing to be done with Walls and Laser Towers Vs. Land forces.

I think this would be a good way of upping conflict during T2 (provided such fortifications were balanced); late-game fortifications would look totally different from early-game barricades.

These walls and platforms wouldn't get more than two-three stacks high, otherwise things would start looking silly.

Lastly, if walls were destroyed beneath a tower then that section would collapse, destroying any tower or unit placed atop it.

    What do y'all think? :)

    Asteroids/Mobile Artillery/Nukes/Orbital Lasers.
    I'm not suggesting shields.

Lol Ops can't believe I did that. And yeah sounds like an interesting idea. How high would these walls get?

Right now defenses are still very powerful, things like this would make it worse. Don't get me wrong,I love this idea ,but we should wait until the game is more balanced.

    I don't know...
It'd be interesting, especially the tiered fortress thing, but at the same time, if it's so hard to break through walls already, what are high walls going to do?

Which is why, I add a suggestion to this suggestion.
Rocket artillery vehicles, vehicles that can only attack walls. They fire high-speed horizontal rockets that, in large concentrations, can actually knock down tiered walls.
A sort of battering ram, but instead of a large wooden ram, it's missiles.

Not to mention, how awesome would it be to see this craziness go down in PA?

Well if we say a T2 wall would be the height of a T2 Laser Tower then no more than two stacked 'Blocks' really.

Platforms would have a lower height and have a T1 Factory-sized footprint. They would nonetheless confer a slight range advantage to any army/fortifications on them. Platforms would have ramps on all sides until connected to other platforms.

Walls connected to walls would connect, as would platforms connected to platforms, creating a space upon which you could build.

Valid concerns. I'm sure defences will get more balanced though :)

This would be amazing if the walls and towers were balanced, which they will be so I dont see why not :D. lol

    Eeeehhhhhhh.....

I dunno. Defensive structures are breaking the game already.

But at the same time. This'll cause players to turtle more, so I can get easy wins.

Yup. Definitely some balancing to be done there.
All the same, it'd be awesome to plaster a pristine jungle world in metal platforms and larger fortifications.

PA meets Stronghold. Crazy, but it probably wouldn't mesh.

As long as the t2 wall is high enough to defend against grenadier spam. That'd be awesome.

Didn't TA have some kind of spiky wall? I'm all for bringing that back. More spikes!
