    Hi,

I did not see any discussion regarding this issue after quick search so here it is.

Why I think sniper bots are broken? They can shoot through anything - wrecks, intact buildings, rocks/mountains and of course walls (did not check the new walls but i doubt it is different).

So why is it like this?

Can you please do something about it?

They're countered pretty easily by shellers.

Although when they reach a critical mass of around 20 or 30 with spinners, they are almost unstoppable.

Guys, i'm not talking about the balance. Did you even read?
Projectiles were supposed to be calculated and hit obstacles. For some reason sniper bot round is not stopped by anything. My guess is it uses same round as the new Anchors and nobody thought it would need collision check.

I know generated maps are laughable when it goes about bottlenecks etc but we can see more and more interesting community made maps.

Because sniper bots are really accurate so they tend to shoot through holes in the mountain straight at there target. I think they're pretty fun like this

It's because the bullets are steerable!! They just steer them around the wreckage or whatever is in the way. :D

If I remember correctly, they don't use bullets.

They have a beam type weapon that instantly reaches it's target upon firing, ignoring all obstacles.

Including the planets crust, if said planet is small enough.

but that is just total bs. why bother building defences on moon when sniper bot can just shoot through the planet surface. Why build artillery piece?!

Srsly can't believe you guys are defending this mechanic.

Edit: And sheller shooting over walls.. well hello mister obvious, what do you think artillery should do?

Because that's not a problem with the sniper bot, that's a problem with the surface not being set to collide with the beam.

Well there is a difference between shooting over, through and having the snipers instant bullet teleportion that does damage to enemy units near to the sniper without actually shooting anything.

Snipers are apparently without the need of a projectile weapon in this projectile physics game.

theseeker2 has always hard a time articulating ideas and getting them down in a forum post.

they also shoot with no curve.

On small planets they are null and void. when I saw the thread title, I thought that's what you were talking about...

You will find people on these forums are terrified on change. Its scary!

I agree they could use some tweaking, I hate how anything that isn't artillery can shoot through units or wrecks.

Logic would dictate that, yes. But thats not the case. They can shoot straight through the terrain, and if the planet was small enough, they would even be able to shoot from pole to pole. Straight through the planet. Only thing they can't shoot through is enemy units.

They don't actually shoot anything at all anyway.

They point and the damage is applied.

There isn't a projectile to collide with stuff in the first place.
