There is no lag in game, but every time a click or hover over an option (e.g. Build option), there is a slight jigger?

Is this my drivers or something?

    Could someone please tell me?

    Thank You!

Hey can you post your dxdiag please. Are you using any mods?

I am not using any mods, but I am at work right now so I can't post the dxdiag files now. I will post them at about 4:00PM Amsterdam time. So stay tuned! Do you already know any basic fixes I could try?

Typical one is to update gpu drivers but hard to say without dxdiag. Could be a ram issue too if you have 4gb or less. Press reply to this message or type @clopse so I get a notification. :D

I had 4GB and then changed it to 8GB didn't make a big difference. Will send the dxdiag later, I don't have time today!
    Sorry!

Here is my dxdiag file, hope that you can explain why this problem is present!

(DxDiag file as an attachment as a notepad).

    Thank You!

I've had a look over your DXDiag...

No major issues there- your drivers are pretty up to date (I think there is a newer Geforce driver available now but I doubt it will change much, worth a try though). Your pagefile is fine, as is your ram.

Out of interest, which version of PA are you running? Do you play via the launcher or through Steam?

If you use Steam, try disabling steam overlay (if you have it on). Also might be worth giving the Uber dedicated launcher a go as some people have run into weird issues with the steam version.

Final thoughts, although you say you aren't currently using any mods, have you ever used any in the past? PA has a nasty habit of mounting anything that is in the mods folder even if it's not supposed to. If you use launcher, you can add the tag "--nomods" into the command line options (under settings) to force PA to ignore any mod folders completely. That very often fixes strange problems and means you'll need to delete any mod folders for a more permanent fix. I'm not certain where to add the "--nomods" switch in Steam as I don't use Steam for PA.

I am running the planetary annihilation client, not from steam. I have never 'ever' installed any mods, though I will still give it a try. Any other ideas?

I'm wondering if the slight jigger may be rendering related. Could you try running PA with the --software-ui flag and see if that makes a difference?

Does the jigger also occur when you play on a very tiny planet? Just create a system with a single moon of radius 200 in the system designer and play on that to test it.

Also, do you have any software in this list?

I'm going to ask the really stupid question just because no one else has yet... any possibility it could be the mouse itself?

Also when you say that it's the mouse that jitters but the FPS is ok... have you tried pressing 'ctrl + P' to bring up the performance monitor and looked at what your fps is? Does it stay smooth all the time, or does it drop when you move the mouse, or when you click on things?

Oh thanks i'll check that as well! And yes I have switched mouse to one that worked before and didn't make a difference.

Hey its been ages since I last posted on this thread. I would just like to state that my problem hasn't been fixed, so I was wondering if we could try again.

So far, this is the status:

    FPS is fine.
Once in game there is no jigger when clicking.

The problem is that whenever I hover over a build option or unit build option, it lags a tiny bit (the halo effect).
To make things clearer I will post a video in about a week.

    Thank You!

Yeah, sorry, your problem has me (and likely others) quite stumped. You are the only one that I've ever seen with this problem. I can't think of anything that might cause this. You could try doing a clean boot to see if it could possibly be any helper software from interfering.

    The video didn't work out?

Could you still post that video? I'd like to see what it looks like.
