[Request] Higher quality commander textures

    A lot of people are moving to 6 and 8 gb cards. Doesn't seem like it would be an issue as a drop down. Ultra textures or something.

    Well my GTX 660 Ti has 2GB of memory, so I think I'll just be able to cope with the high-res commander textures. If it's a bit too much for it, then hopefully we can cook up some 1024x1024 textures which will be a happy medium (well, closer to 512...)

    I'm actually allergic to jaggies and have to take special pills to cope with the aliasing in PA. I'd love some decent anti-aliasing to be implemented in the game, but I can see why it wouldn't be very high on the priorities list.

    That memory increase is a bit much, But nothing my 285 can't handle :) I'd love to see high res commanders.

    Even 1024X1024 textures would be better then the 512X512 textures :p

    Super sampling limited to 175% I think is just an arbitrary number picked based on the memory usage we were seeing when it was first added (which was way worse than it is now). Internally we don't have any limits, but the code that converts from the UI to in game renderer does.

    I don't think we have any plans on making the FXAA better, it is what it is. SMAA might be a little nicer in some situations, but unless we implement the temporal component it wouldn't be noticeable.

    The texture resolution difference is a bug with the scaled resolution being probably higher than expected. However I agree it seems like it should be that good normally.

    Well, you might have your wish. Two of the commanders only have 1024x1024 source. ;)

    On a very slightly related note, currently .papa files cannot be shadowed by server mods @bgolus. Do you have any idea why this is and if it could be easily fixed?

    Nope, no idea. Mod loading is one of the few bits of code shared by the client and server.

    I have a 760 2gb and it's plenty enough to play modern games like BF4, and it's going to get a hell of a lot better once DX12 rolls out with windows 10
