The addition of wakes and waves caused by the motion and combat of ships would be nice, nothing to alter game play... just for prettiness sake.

Wait did i miss something during preschool learning English?

I've never heard of this word in Muricah before, and I thought it was a typo until it became more than a coincidence.

what's so uncommon about the word wake? Granted, I was in the USN so it makes sense that I'd have heard it alot.

Water really needs waves, splashes, and ripples. Also needs features like coral, seaweed, alien life and or plants.

Needs Supcom2 level of water detail
(not really, but supcom2 for one thing, had really good naval mechanics, strong ships that had real impact and featured several attack options (like 1 ship had AA, long range guns, AND torpedoes) for a ship that size...and the water effects where awesome, you could see the bottom, and it meant you could see the sunk ships sloooowwllyyyy floating to the bottom in a wreck, wish we had supcom2 style water effects)

Now that i saw that alpha water, I can't help but criticize the current water. It looks so bad compared to this, almost to the point where I can't even enjoy naval anymore just because it looks like a solid blue texture script instead of this beauty like in just cause 2

    THAT LOOKS AMAZING!

Hell, even supcom's water looked amazing - and that's even with the repeating texture pattern that it had

Some dev explained that it's really hard to make good looking waves and stuff to PA since all known ways to make that stuff does works just on flat maps and it's hard to suit those ways to circular maps.

If Populous the Beginning (3d world) from 1998 can have waves, ripples, and splashes then PA can as well. Again, sounds like a lazy cop out.

yupp, SOUNDS like ... but you have absolutely no idea about making water on spherical maps
or weither the maps of PA are in any way similar to those of populous .. in other words you have no idea ...
but hey sure one game has it so the other must have it too, f**kin easy right?
screw havin a functioning game first but GRAPHICS !!! .. if they donĀ“t do GRAPHICS they are LAZY .. cause screw their priorities and them having a small budget ...

yeah lazy my a ss ... get out of here ...

Populous the Beginning didn't use spheres, they uses a flat map implementation made to look like a sphere. A torus I believe. Good thing you rushed straight to insults though, didn't make yourself look silly at all.
