Hey folks, total newbie here :)

I've been reading the forums last few days and have found many acronyms that seem to specific to the Planetary Anihilation community. I've found the meaning for only a few.
Is there a list somewhere where I can read up on the acronyms?

So far all I found out is that PAMM stands for Planetary Anihilation Mod Manager and Fab or fabber is a construction unit.
Pax, dox, mex, CSG (found out it's the objects used in making planets) and more. No idea what these mean and I can't find a clue.

most of them aren't acronyms, they are just shorter names

PAX is a computer gaming event that happened a few months ago
Dox is the name of a unit
    Mex is metal extractor
    Pgen is power generator

    etc...

It gets more confusing if you watch old videos as a number of units have had their name changed e.g. the t1 tank is properly called the "Ant", not a "Bolo".

not all PA lingo is acronyms: here is some (lingo) that you'll find useful in-game.
    • E is energy
    • mass/metal is the other resource.
    • t/tech is technology level "we need t2 power", "let's tech up"
    • gg "good game" (gg no re means "good game, no remach" not used in the PA community and frowned upon)
    • wp "well played"
    • gl hf "good luck and have fun"
    • gl hf aphytsomdfbc (only tatsu uses this, often without abbreviating, do not use this unless willing to be mistaken for tatsu) "good luck have fun and please help yourself to some of my delicious freshly backed cookies"
    • com the commander
    • rush is to attempt to obtain something fast (usually employed when referring to a structure "rush t2" but can be used not as a verb but as an adjective also when referring to units "bot rush" which will then mean using them fast and in crushing numbers)
    • com rush/com boxing the junction of the two refers to moving your commander from the very start of the game towards an opponent commander in an effort to use the commander's offensive capabilities at the brink at which they can be utilised to their fullest.
    • macro will be used to tell you to focus on the larger picture generally will refer to your economy. "let's shift focus back to macro"
    • micro will be used to tell you to focus on very minute small and quick succession of orders on a small group of or a single unit. "micro that bomber!"
    • nuke/nuk send a nuclear missile there
    • snipe almost exclusively referring to the commander, if not specified, then it is referring to the commander. means put together a force sufficient or even in excess of the necessary to quickly eliminate target. ...often the type will be specified. "let's air-snipe him"
    • escalation of commitment/over-committing/over-commit is doing something, finding that it doesn't work/fails, then doing it again (or even more in a case where you feel it would be a shame to abandon the investment you've already put forth in that direction even though it's not working)
    • KEW (actually an acronym for once), short for "Kinetic Energy Weapon" implies using the required number of Halleys (planet-propelling rockets) on a movable planet and sending crashing into the enemy (generally on top of his commander) "let's KEW that mofo!"
    • air (usually followed by one or many exclamation points and one or several map pings) means there's an air attack or snipe going on right now right there and there needs to be an influx of air-killing type units at that point to protect whatever valuables (often the commander)
    • navy can be used like air but more often then not simply to refer to naval and the need for more of it.
    • land can be used like air but more often then not simply to refer to ground troops and the need for more of it.
    • orbital can be used like air but more often then not simply to refer to orbiting/space units and the need for more of it.
    • gate/tp/tele refers to the teleporter and often using said structure to ambush an/escape from opponent. "let's gate him", "build a gate so I can get back to you"
    • Annihilazor/lazor (most likely a reference to shoop-da-whoop) referring to the metal planet's game-ender weapon which you activate by building 5 catalysts on their pedestals "lazor that mofo"
    • cata the catalyst
    • ant t1 tank's preferred name.

I figured pax here meant something different then penny arcade's event, no idea why.

Most of your list is standard online gaming/rts slang, it's really the PA specific things that confused me :)

    Cheers guys :D

If we had a downvote button and a top ten list, by the end of today you would be at the top of it. :D

Haha yeah it's very jargon-intensive - like many strategy games and complex subjects in general. Most of them have been cleared up in the thread already, but I can add:

CSG = Constructive Solid Geometry. Not just used in making metal planets - these things are what makes all the big rocks, plateaus, volcanoes, etc. you see sticking out from the surfaces of planets in PA. It's more of a mapmaking thing, to be honest, and it's not a term you'll see often in discussions of how to play the game. If you want to make maps though it's handy to know.

I was going to put yes with a tilde, but I can't because even as a joke that would be much to blasphemous to the royal ant.
