I love the game, but my goodness something must be done about the splitscreen framerate. I was playing with a friend the other day who also has the game, and eventually we decided the only way for us to stay competitive was for him to go home and play from a separate box. This wasn't the first time - it seems every time some bullets start to fly on split screen the game becomes a slideshow.

I know I'm not the first to bring this up. But it's actually embarrassing for me to introduce my friends to the game!

yeh...me and my brother used to play pre dlc and it was really fun. doing good for beginners at the time. now it sucks and since he plays more than i do hes like 300 ranks above me when before he was like the next one after me and kinda sucks playing without his moneyball agression since i usually play a defensive support or gunner

Pre Spunky is right, that was decent two player actions

Now i refuse to have someone jump on the box with me. It just slows down an already mostly lag filled game. Whenever one of you die, the other player has to lag when the dead player is respawning. This can cause big problems when in the middle of a fight.

Now when i have friends come over that dont want to trade off rounds of MNC we just put on Black Ops and play 2 player there.

Yes yes, the good 'ol days :)

But seriously, the lag is poop.

Is this why every split screen player I end up teamed with seems to play with the same skill and awareness I'd expect from a mollusc?

Pretty much. The framerate issues combined with any lag can make it difficult to play on split-screen. It's not undoable for some fun games, but it can definitely put you at a disadvantage.
