sometimes when I'm playing Galactic War, I get a screen covering image of colored noise. the noise is static no matter what I do. If I quit the current game and load a new one, the noise remains. if I completely close the game, the noise goes away.

Here are some screen shots of what happens:

I thought updating the drivers for my graphics card had fixed it, but no. it happened again today after the update today. it seems to happen when I click on the little alerts that pop up near the top of the screen.

forgot to add the screen shots. the metal planet I was on was visible for about 5-10 seconds before it disapeared behind the noise like almost everything else

I just had it happen right when the game loaded. when you are supposed to pick your spawn point. There is also a new wrinkle. this time I noticed a ton of processes running. I have no idea what coherentuihost.exe32 could possibly be.

It's PA's UI renderer. It's pretty normal and not related to your problem.

Though your screenshots are interesting because planet orbit lines as well as spawn spots numbers are visible on them.

How consistantly can you repro this bug?

it happens somewhere in the ballpark of once every four hours of gameplay, and I don't know how to reproduce it. I'll see if I can make it happen, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Once every four hours doesn't seem too frequent, so please don't worry about trying to get a repro for us. However, if it occurs again, I would be useful to know if:
    1) PA had been running for a comparatively long time.
    2) The particular match has been running for a long time.
    3) The system has a large number of planets.

Thanks for you help. We are aware of the issue, but it is very difficult to repro.

When it happened to me I was playing with four planets and it happened again with six planets (those were small)

I don't think match length has anything to do with it because the first time I had it it was 9 minutes in, remy's had it happen 3 minutes in and I've even seen a screenshot where it happened a mere 55 seconds into the game. And that 55 second one only had one planet...

Also I've noticed that when the planet is visible as a blank texture thingy, the extra static texture in the lower left isn't there.

    ^this

I don't remember if I had PA itself open for a long time though. I'd say not because I don't play that much, mostly a match or 2 a week or less.

One happened when zooming out so I don't know what causes it.

I have two hours of available play ever y week day and I can consistently say that most every time I start a match after about ten minutes of having a match this bug begins

It's very random for me, I've had it in a 1v1 before, but also in big games. Sometimes at the start of the game, sometimes mid game. I think it generally happens at the exact time an action is performed, but I can't guarantee this. I don't think it is a particular action, but I'll try to remember if I have the bug again. I have had it very rarely since removing my graphics card and blowing some air in there and reseating it. But it still occurs, so these two things may be unrelated.

Just in case what I may suggest and what may be worth to try. If this problem occur for you really often try to change "Threaded Optimizations" to "Off" in Nvidia Control Panel. Who know's may be it's related.

I just had this bug again!

All I did was load a 5-planet system. Happened as soon as the loading screen went away:

Shut the game down and booted it up again with no issue. Same map, same opponent even.

99 little bugs on the wall...
