I think PA recently is discovered in Asia or something. Wathed a twitch stream another day with over 100 viewers. And the chat only had characters like 我不能说中国 ...

I'd love to be a gamer in asia, they have a lot of places to LAN unlike in the UK where if you want to LAN everyone has to cart their PCs about resulting in everyone remaining in their own darkened room at home.

Yeah believe that was JK, he seemed to have fun even though whilst playing a few boring games. Didn't have any units really. Could be good if Uber pay one of the main streamers in China to play the game on YY. huge gaming market there.

So you reckon there's a market for a large gaming bar in the UK do you? Interesting.

There's a gaming bar in Brisbane, cofounded by Yahtzee Croshaw himself
    https://www.facebook.com/TheManaBar

There was one in Melbourne too but it shut down :(.

Gaming bar. Does this sound as cool as I think it does, or should the word bar not be translated literally. I would love to listen to your plans for this sometime. Tournament finals stream with drinks and like minded people would be a real nice day out for me.

More interesting is the average playtime of a new player. Or something like how many people played the game more than 1 day. That would easily show how many of the new people actually like the game in its current state.

I would so go to a cool bar in London that served craft beers, snacks, and had TVs for showing e-sports matches (PA included!).

There certainly isn't a market for it where I'm from in Nottingham, maybe there could be in a bigger city but I think to be honest most people have a decent PC here at home and so they wouldn't think of leaving the house to LAN.

I think the way to go is, primary a craft beer place, but one that also has TV setup for sporting events that include esports.

There was a lan game centre open in the Corner House for quite a while. It was always busy when I saw it, though I think it lacked a lot of what it needed to make it viable long term (all it had was computers).

I like what Brewdog has done in Nottingham (they have a number of old consoles + board games available for people to play). I think there is the possibility to combine a bar + lan gaming into something pretty good. Make a night of it (there's a place called the '8 bit lounge' in Falmouth like that and it was pretty good place to chill out and play a few games with a beer).

I don't see why Nottingham couldn't have such a venue if managed well imo :) Also nice to know another player from Notts...

My muthafukkin home boy, what up?!

Brew dog is good buy the gaming angle is a gimmick. Spanky Van Dykes used to have a playstation in it back in 2004, what happened?! There used to be an arcade called Namco right on the square too, what happened?! There also used to be a pool table in almost every pub, what happened?!

Bars really need to pick up their act on the entertainment front, there are a few new bars and they are doing well but they are going for the trendy upper class hipster angle rather than offering anything unique.
