I just hope more players come into the Planetary annihilation multilayer aspect after the next few patches.

People can be creative, that's why I prefer MP. You can't learn cool strategies from AI.
Also, playing singleplayer makes me feel so alone :(

Whooooo shiiiiit, you are a real lonesome Gamer.

I only play online, i never liked the Singleplayer, too boring too less diversity.

I can remember being a kid and my older neighbor playing Command & Conquer Gold in like 1996. He was able to play another guy from his high school, over a modem. Which was mind blowing to me at the time. Not sure if he was using the internet or just a direct connection between two modems.

Then a few years later I myself started playing AofE 2 in 1999 over the internet. So online RTS has been around for as long as the technology could support it. Not sure what percentage of games support multiplayer but anymore, if it doesn't, then I probably won't play it for long. Being online gives a game great replay ability.

Another example: Age2Hd has about 8,500 players logged in steam and at the current time there are around 60 lobbies (summing up vanilla and the addon) for around 400 players available.

I think something around 10% of playing online for a RTS is no bad guess. I bet that StarCraft2 also doesn't have more than max 20%. Just because the online players have a strong presence on forums, yt, twitch & similar, doesn't mean they are the majority.

It doesn't help that the campaign modes encourage this thinking. The Generals challenge from ZH, for example, is a perfect example of this problem as early game no offense that you do is going to have much effect and even a large size force that gets destroyed will likely have all of its progress undone in a couple of minutes.

If you want to get people into multiplayer, it is paramount that the singleplayer modes force the player to behave much the same way as they would in a multiplayer mode.

what people need are challenges with rising difficulty similar to ki3's dojomode where it also introduces you to the finer details of the game ... god i still have to finish the damn second part ...

I mean often than not it is some multi/competitive player who is getting on their high horse from my experience.:) So Uber can alternate patch focus like MP, SP, MP, SP. Rinse and repeat.

    Theta commanders are nerds
Armalisk is and Nemicus are the best commanders and no one can convince me otherwise
